DIED At his residence, in this place, on Friday, the 8th inst., DR. T.M. BLACKWELL; after a protracted and painful illness of more than eight months. Dr. Blackwell has long been an ornament to this community - useful as a physician - useful as a Christian minister - useful in his deeds of charity; and the world has seldom lost a better man; nor has Heaven often gained a purer spirit. While watering his grave with our tears, we can only console ourselves with the hope, that his beautiful example may light us to that repose which he now enjoys, but which we have yet to attain." |
