Virgil Georgia Beasley, 86, retired employee of a Gary, Ind., steel mill, died of cardiac arrest Sunday at Methodist Hospital of Dyersburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Halls Funeral Home with burial in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Beasley, the husband of Mary Kathaleen Newman Beasley, also leaves a son, Tony Beasley of Hopkinsville, Ky.; a sister, Maggie Bailey of Halls, and two grandchildren.
