Need help with Griffin, Daniel, Samuel, Thomas, James or William. Probably in Hamilton Co. from abt. 1829 to 1836 when Meigs Co. was formed. I assume they were living in the northern part of Hamilton Co. This family has been my waterloo. Some days I wonder if it's worth chewing through the leather straps! William Miller Hall(1885-1922) married Flora Knight(1884-1980) in Hamilton County. They had 6 children (2 of them did not live) Flora is the sister of Mary Josephine Knight of South Pittsburg, Mary Jewell Bryson of Chattanooga, Charles Oscar, Zedic, Dero, and Robert Mancel Hall locations unknown. Her mother was Louisa Jane Harris(1859-1942) her father was David James Knight locations unknown.(posible North Carolina) William had 2 sisters Fanny and Bell that is all I have on him It is believed most of the children where born in South Pittsburg but unknown.
Flora added a K to the middle of her name to get employment. She married a William Wheeler after the death of Hall.They lived in Rock Springs, GA until her death in 1980 Flora Hall was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist, I am the great grand daughter of Knight and Hall. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for any information on a James R. Hill who married Nancy Lee in Hamilton county Tennessee in 1867. He was born in North Carolina and she was born in Tennessee. They later moved on to Indian Territory (Oklahoma) and possibly had a son (adopted), by the name of James Mitchell Gainer. He was also born in Tennessee. I think that James Hill was previously married, but I do not know the name of his first wife. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for someone who knows are knew my Great grand parents. There names were Lewis Henry Harpp and Mary Fife. Lewis was born in Indiana and Mary was born in Georgia. They had several children, Tempe L. Harpp and Annie Lou Harpp-born Feb, 25, 1908, Hoyt Harpp birth date unknown . I do think they were all born in Hamilton County. I do know that my great grand father own a farm I think on route 64. My grand mother was Tempe L., she taught school in one of the one room schools. She died in 1936. My great grand father died in 1951 or 1952, but he was buried in the family cemetary I think was on his farm land. Also my grand father who was married to Tempe Harpp Smith, was the Paster of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Chattanooga. So if any one know or knew any of my people please let me know. I am looking for information on General Samuel Igou of Hamilton County who operated Igou's Ferry at Soddy Daisy, TN. He is buried in the family cemetery at his homplace called Igou's Ferry. The land is now owned by Sequoyah Nuclear Plant and the cemetery is in a restricted area (near a target range). Anyone desiring to visit the cemetery must have prior authorization from the head of the Security Department of the nuclear plant. Samuel was also related to the Yarnell, Thompson, and Lusk families of Hamilton County, TN. (A partial transcription of the Igou Cemetery is online under Hamilton County TN cemeteries). I would like to exchange information with other researchers who are working on IGOU, THOMPSON, YARNELL, LUSK lines.

Also need information on the father of William F. Bean. His name was William Bean born abt 1785. He was in the 1830 census of Hamilton County with a large family and his wife appears to be dead. Looking for information on Harrison BOSWELL b.1774 MD. He and wife Rebecca are on the 1840 Hamilton Co TN Census. In 1850 they are living with daughter Sarah Boswell SIVLEY. They died before the 1880 census - would like to know when and where they are buried.
Living next door to them in 1840 was daughter Juliann Boswell and husband Alexander FREEMAN b.@1798. They had at least 7 children: Harrison Boswell Freeman b.1828, Rebecca R. b.1831, Harriet Amanda b.1833, Willaim b.1834, Matison R. b.1838, Isabella b.1840 and Alexander Jr. b.1842. Also looking for parents or information on these FREEMANS.

Walter Roy Neal attended Emory & Henry College and graduated in 1904. I believe that he married Willetta Kronenbitter before he graduated. She attended a local school of some kind, but is believed to have been born in Louisiana.

His signature Looks Like J.W. or J.N. I do think it was N. He was found on a 1880 Census, Cartacay Dist. Gilmer County, GA He was 9 years of age at that time.

Crisman in 1856 in Franklin Co., TN.
Their children were William (1856-1878), Thomas, Teresa "Tede" (1860-??), and Charlie (1865-??). Miller Francis Turney was a member of the Chattanooga law firm of Blackstone, Coke, Littleton & Co. in 1871. Any help much appreciated.

I am looking for any information on John A. Frost. He was married to Sidney Vandergriff.He had four girls, Ruth,Gladys,Evelyn and John, John was born after he died. He worked on the Nashville Chattanooga and St. Louis Railroad as a brakeman. They had just put up a overpass in downtown Chattanooga and he got knocked between the cars and his food was cut off. he died of blood poisoning on Dec211907 and his daughter was born Feb 1908. He had three brothers, one named Charlie, I think they worked on the railroad too.Also looking for info on Elizabeth Vandergriff. Her brother Fred is buried near John Frost. I don't know where she is buried. I really need to find the names of John's parents.

Thomas PENNINGTON married Mary RIDDLE (RAGSDALE) in Hamilton Co in 1857. At the time of their marriage, Mary had one son, Darris RAGSDALE. Later, Thomas Pennington may have been killed during the Civil War. and Mary abandoned her son, Darris, and one daughter, Tennessee. Tennessee was the daughter of Mary and Thomas Pennington, but later took the name WALDEN. Tennessee married Crave KILGORE. On the 1870 Hamilton Co census, Darris and Tennessee were living with Jesse and Nancy WALDEN. Any information on any of these families would help to solve a 100 year old mystery in our family.

He served as a Private from a CSA Alabama Unit. How can I obtain burial records from the said cemetery on him, and does anyone know of local volunteers who help out-of-staters by offering to take photos of the grave in said cemetery?

Searching for information concerning Thomas J. COX (b. 1820 in TN - d. 7 Nov 1901 in Whitfield Co., GA). He was married to Sarah RAGAN (b. abt 1823 in TN - d. bef 1894 in Whitfield Co., GA). They had the following children:

Thomas and Sarah lived in Chattanooga, TN at some time as his obituary was in the Chatt. Times on 10 Nov 1901. It states that he was an uncle of Newton and Charles COX of Chattanooga. The obituary states that he worked as a contractor and I also know that he worked as a millwright. If anyone has ANY information about this family I would appreciate the help..
