Lewis, Albert (Boots), and Earl. Also had 2 sisters named LaVern, and Mrs. C.A. Bell. My father worked as a lathe operator in the 40's and married my mother, then Sarah Camp. My name was Gerald Grant Mitchell, but my mother changed it some yrs later. Last saw my father in 1945, when my mother took me away from him. I only found out a couple of months ago that my father wanted me. Mother said he didn't but, I found an old diary where he had written how he missed me and how she took me away from him. so all these yrs. I thought he didn't want me. She said he remarried and had 6 more children. I have brothers, sisters, and cousins I've never known. The part I don't understand is that she didn't want me. Sent me off to military school at age of 5 on a train by myself, then to private school. In high school I moved to Tallahassee, Fl. where she was and she got me an apartment and moved to another town. I could have had a daddy that loved me and a family but, she took that away from me. Now I would like to find any family that I might have. If anyone in the Chattanooga area knows of any of these family members please let me know. Any of you younger ones that get on the net and recognize any of the names I've mentioned go ask your folks or e-mail me. I can't tell you how very much I would appreciate it. My greatest wish would be that Gerald Grant Mitchell could still be alive. My mother even took my birthright name away from me. I really appreciate any help anyone can give.
Thanks Jerry

I am searching for information on the UTERMOEHLEN family who lived in Tennessee ca. 1870s-1960s. Charles Utermoehlen taught music at Mary Sharp College in Winchester, TN, and opened a private conservatory in Chattanooga in the 1880s and later taught in Jackson and Murfreesboro. Information on this conservatory would be greatly appreciated.
Charles (1842-1936) was married to Georgia Boucher (1854-1923), and their children included William G. (1874-1949), Oscar (1877-1915), Frieda (d. 1964), and Daisy. Charles, Georgia, and Oscar are buried in Winchester. I am interested in finding the other family members. Frieda married Garnet CARTER and was still in Chattanooga at the time of her father's death in 1936. I would be interested in finding living relatives of these people to talk with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Pam Dennis
