Mr. Drew Avery was the only old veteran to board the Veteran’s Special at Crockett Mills Monday morning. This is his first time to attend a reunion since the state went Republican.
Attorney W. H. Ward of Dyersburg was in town Tuesday to attend a meeting of directors of the Farmers & Merchants Bank.
Misses Nona Richardson and Annie Lou Acred of Crockett Mills attended a contention of the Christian church at Selmer this week.
Esq. J. F. Robertson of Crockett Mills, aged 80 and a Confederate Veteran, was unable to attend the reunion at Jacksonville this week.
This is the second reunion he has missed since the boys in gray have been holding their annual reunions. He has been to Richmond, the capital of the Confederate states and to the reunions held in various cities of the South.
Mr. Robertson had already engaged rooms in Jacksonville and it was with a feeling of disappointment that he saw the Veterans’ train pull through over the B. & N. W. Monday morning, for he always enjoys these annual meetings of those who composed one of the greatest armies of the world’s history.
The Veteran Special passed through Monday morning over the B. & N. W. for the reunion at Jacksonville. Postmaster Wm. Curtis and John Carman went from this place. W. J. Carlton left Sunday. The reunion began Wednesday, but those attending will be away from home for one week.
Ex Postmaster John L. Sinclair of Dyersburg was in the city Monday. Mr. Sinclair is now engaged in the insurance business.
Mrs. Annie Cardwell of Dyersburg was a visitor here last week.
Esqs. J. H. Bessent and A. B. Chambers of Tigrett attended quarterly court in Dyersburg Monday.
Dr. J. P. Sims was in Dyersburg Monday and added some new names to the Tri-County News list and some renewals.

Dr. J. S. Downey has moved his office to his residence on Church Street about 300 yards south-east of the old office over Bank of Friendship and will remain there until he can get a more desirable place. He is ready for business and will appreciate your business.
