W. H. FONES has accepted the position of cashier of the Bank of Fowlkes. He formerly held the position of assistant Cashier of the Bank of Friendship and is a very popular young man.
The brick work on the new two story building of the Friendship Pharmacy, corner Main and Depot Streets, will soon be completed. This will be one of the largest and best buildings in town. The brick building of Evans & Lassiter, Undertakers, on Depot Street has been completed and stock moved in. They are putting in fine fixtures and will have one of the nicest undertaking establishment in the county.
Circuit Court convened in the city of Alamo Monday, Judge T. E. HARWOOD presiding, and Gen. Tom RYE present. the docket is large and it may take two weeks to dispose of all the cases. The Case of Mose SMITH, charged with murder, will probably be disposed of this court.
Attorneys from other places present are: W. N. BEASLEY, Halls; W. H. WARD, Dyersburg; W. C. PATTON, Halls; I. H. McFARLAND, Humboldt, and S. H. WILLIAMS, Dyersburg.
The Edenton-Parker Company, a newly organized concern, has purchased the Dyersburg Wholesale Grocery which for 15 years has been a successful business firm of Dyersburg. The EDENTONS are Jackson capitalists. The president of the new concern is J. C. EDENTON of the Edenton Grocery Company, Jackson. The new concern will build a new house on a lot adjoining the I. C. railroad tracks.

Friendship Tent K. O. T. M. met Monday night and installed new officers. Sir Knights RICE and SMITH of Davy Crockett Ten, Crockett Mills, were welcome visitors. The Friendship Bees are going to have a live lodge this year.
