Teacher's Meeting

All white teachers will please remember the meeting Saturday, December 20th from 9:30 to 12 o'clock. This will also be pay day for those who bring reports of month's teaching. T. E. LOWERY, Co. Supt.

Notice to Colored Teachers

Those who have taught a month meet me at the colored school building, Alamo, Monday, December 22, for warrants. Bring reports. T. E. LOWERY, Co. Supt.

Misses Ruth and Bessie SMITH entertained a few of their friends Saturday evening at their home near town.

Miss Altie HALL, popular sales lady for Smith & James, spent Sunday with homefolks in the Elizabeth community.

W. B. SORRELL was in Dyersburg Sunday.

Mr. Tolly SMITH attended the teacher's meeting at Dyersburg Saturday.

Presiding Elder W. A. FREEMAN will preach at the school building next Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and will hold quarterly conferences Monday. Dinner on the ground and everybody invited.

Elder PHILLIPS of Maury City will preach at the Christian Church next Sunday at 11 o'clock. Everyone invited.

Lawrence SANDERS has been putting down a concrete walk in front of his residence on North Main Street.

Lunsford Lodge I. O. O. F. at a recent meeting elected the following officers: T. G. AVERY, N.G.; W. B. SORRELL, V.G.; W. B. LUNSFORD, Sec.; C. E. SWEATT, Treas.

Mr. & Mrs. Carl LAMEN and children visited Mr. & Mrs. Bob BEAVER Friday night.

Misses Flora WARMATH of Jackson and Nannie HELFLY of Crockett Mills visited T. G. AVERY and family this week.

Misses Ila Gracie SMITH, Dora BOWEN, Bertie IMGRAM and Bertie WATSON went to Dyersburg Saturday to attend a teacher's meeting.

Bryan, 15 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert BEAVER, passed away at their home near Stokes Tuesday after a lingering illness. He was a bright youth and loved and admired by many friends. He was a nephew of G. T. SMITH and Mrs. W. C. JAMES of this place. The remains were interred at Bowen's Chapel Wednesday.

Albert LANIER, old Crockett boy, spent Tuesday in the city.

Robert EUBANKS of Jackson was here last week the guest of John CLARK and enjoyed a few day of bird hunting.

Dr. J. P. SIMS visited near Dyer Saturday.

Paul SIMS of Maury City was here Sunday.

Dr. J. S. DOWNEY has put down a nice concrete walk in front of his property on Church Street.

Henry GARRETT, former citizen of this county, who now resides in Carouthsville, Missouri is here this week buying mules.

W. H. SUDBURY, cashier of Farmer & Merchants Bank, has purchased the C. F. CARATHERS farm near town. Consideration: $6,500.

Tennessee LOVE, the liveryman, has purchased the Anderson buggy house on Depot Street from W. H. SUDBURY and will move it to a lot back of the livery barn and use it for a buggy house. Mr. ANDERSON has moved his stock of buggies to the J. L. STALLINGS house on South Main.

Dr. BUTLER of Bells, an experienced pharmacist has accepted a position with the Quality Drug Co. Dr. HARWOOD will also remain with the firm until the first of the year.

Olin MOORE of Dyersburg was here Monday.

Elk GREEN of the U. S. Army from Little Rock, Arkansas is here spending a few days with relatives.

Hon. W. C. FLY of Alamo was here last week in the interest of the Sailor lodge here.

Mrs. Grover C. Malone is quite sick this week.

E. O. MEREDITH is preparing to have two new residence built on Depot Street.

Mr. & Mrs. Dougald VERNON of Elizabeth were visiting relatives here Sunday.

James HESS of Bells is visiting relatives here this week.
