Miss Mattie CRAIG and Miss Gladys SUDBURY entertained with a "tacky" party at the home of Mr. & Mrs. J. A. STALLINGS on College Street Saturday evening. Miss Mary FONES won the ladies' prize. Marvin GRIFFIN won the young mens' prize. Those present were: Misses Sallie WATSON, Annie Laurie LOVE, Annie Lou STALLINGS, Mary FONES, Ora JONES, Ada Mai MILLER, Willie Miller CUDE, Gracie SMITH, Mattie CRAIG and Gladys SUDBURY; Messrs. Frederick LOVE, Clark PERRY, Wayna BOLING, Victor AGEE, Robbie ROBERTSON, David ROBERTSON, Marvin GRIFFIN, Ira FIELDER, Moss GRIFFIN and Floyd CHANDLER.

Mr. & Mrs. J. T. Amos and children of near Dyer visited Dr. J. P. SIMS and family this week.
Representative J. F. PARK came home Saturday to visit his family and returned to Nashville Sunday.
Mrs. Fannie ERB of Bells and Miss Lyda CHANDLER of Searcy, Ark. were guest of Mrs. J. W. CHANDLER.
H. L. FONES and wife visited relatives in Newbern and RoEllen last week and on their return home happened to an accident that came near being serious. While crossing the river between Parkers and Bessents, one corner of the bridge being much lower than the other and wet, the horse fell and came near going off of the bridge into the river. The only damage was to the harness and a few shinned places on the horse.
We are informed that Dr. D. W. THOMPSON, the veterinary surgeon of Crockett Mills will move here in a few weeks to open a veterinary hospital and practice his profession.

We received a letter from L. B. HARWELL Sr. at Tucson, Ariz. stating that he would be in Friendship about October 1. He reported his family well.
Paul SIMS of Henry has been at the bedside of his sister. Miss Lida Sue has been quite sick.
