Slate creek Cemetery

Slate Creek Cemetery dates back to at least 1844
and
is located on Holt Town Road, about ¼ mi off Highway
160 in the Centerview community in the 3rd Civil District of Cocke
County, TN. The cemetery is in disarray, with several tombstones
overturned and/or broken. There are many unmarked graves. Listed below
are the names found on tombstones along with birth dates, death dates,
and any significant wording on the tombstones - which is shown on this
document enclosed in parenthesis ( ). "Buried With" indicates there is
more than one person buried in front of a tombstone. This cemetery is
located on or near the site of the Slate Creek Baptist Church (not now
in existence).
