Born 2 Jan 1841 Madison County, North Carolina, son of John Henry Wild (1807-1871) and Elizabeth Sams (1813 -c. 1850).

Married 15 Apr 1862 in Madison County, North Carolina, Thursey Cansadie Gilbert (1847-1886), daughter of James A. Gilbert (1825 - c. 1870).

Civil War Service: Private, 2nd North Carolina Mounted Infantry Regiment (USA).

Accused of desertion from this regiment, but pardoned by Congressional Act of Jul 1870. But it seems he did desert and did join the 64th North Carolina Infantry (CSA) as a private after leaving the USA regiment.

Civilian occupation: Stage stop operator in Hartford, Tennessee area.

Died in 1919 in Cocke County, Tennessee

Burial: George Freeman Cemetery, Hartford, Tennessee.
