Too many researchers erroneously believe land granted in Tennessee beginning in 1824 was for military service. <\/p>\n

Early deed books contained all manner of recorded instruments:  land transactions, powers of attorney, slave bills of sale, chattel mortgages, and more.<\/p>\n

Land Entry, Survey, Plat & Warrant records often were recorded separately from other land records.<\/p>\n
