From the Tennessee Virtual Archive<\/a>:<\/p>\r\n In the early 1900s Pittsburgh Lumber Company built a small railroad called the Laurel Fork Railway to assist in transporting lumber to the nearby sawmill in what was then called Braemar, Tenn. The Laurel Fork Railway was a small, standard-gauge logging railroad that operated entirely in Carter County, Tennessee from 1912 to 1927.
