WAR VET DIES IN N. C. HOSPITAL

Remains of Claude C. Harris Brought Here For Burial.

Claude C. Harris World War veteran and son of J. C. Harris

of Walter Hill, died last Saturday afternoon about 6:30 o'clock

at the government hospital at Oteen, North Carolina. His

remains arrived here Monday afternoon.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at

the Hebron church with Rev. Samson Lester and Rev. Herbert

Phillips officiating. Interment was in the family cemetery.

Jennings and Ayers were in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were J. N. Baskin, Fred Jones, Joe Huddleston,

R. A. Huddleston, S. A. Huddleston, Clifford Huddleston,

Bryant Harris and Carmack Harris.

Mr. Harris had been suffering for over 10 years with his ailments,

and he had visited various government institutions. His family is

a prominent one in this county and he had a large number of friends.

Survivors are his Wife, Mrs. Christian Harris, a daughter, Julia Harris,

his parents, one sister, Mrs. Fain Neely of Walter Hill, and two

brothers, Dayton Harris of Walter Hill and Howard Harris of Nashville.
