I am searching for information on the BEASLEY family. I have a Jesse Beasley born abt 1805 in Wilson Co.,TN. His parents are Wiley Beasley from NC and Lucy Parker from NC. It was told they moved from Wilson Co., TN to Greene Co., Alabama when Jesse was young, around 5 years old. Wiley Beasley's parents are Ephraim Beasley and _____ Harris. Jesse married Elisabeth W. HUTCHINS- Researching the family of Zachariah HUTCHINS who was married to Charity. He enlisted at Fayettesville in Capt. Beverly Williams Mounted Gunmen, TN Volunteers, under Andrew Jackson. He was discharged by Brig. Gen. John Coffee on 2 May 1815. Would like to learn his relationship to John HUTCHINS also in Wilson County about the same time. Charity and Zarachiah were reportedly members of Big Cedar Lick Baptist Church from 1813-1819. He gave marriage bond for the marriage of Hannah McGee and Aaron Anglin. Seeking information on the intermarried Sypert, Rison, and Straughn families, who lived in Wilson County during the 19th century. (Straughn also spelled Strawn or Straughan, Rison also spelled Risen and Rizen.) William C. Sypert had three daughters Jane, Mary Ann, and Roxalana (also known as Roxalany or Rockerlany). Mary Ann married James Risen on Dec. 8, 1832. Roxalana married Peter Rizen on September 2, 1830, and later married Joseph J. Strawn on January 21, 1839. Believe Roxalana and Joseph Strawn's youngest son Andrew to be the same Andrew Straughan who married my grandmother in 1879. Any information appreciated as the records are full of variant spellings and discrepancies.

Information from Alice Greer Simmons Bible-Thia (Michie) TN Recorded by LSD Program By A.E. Greer 27 November 1990------- Robert was cabinet maker. Left home in TN to find work in North Carolina and never returned. It is believed that Robert could have been killed by Indians. Date of birth is about 1780. Robert came to America as a young man. Married Nancy ?? Hubard (Not sure of last name) in NC OR SC. Records show that 4 of the children were born in SC and 1 born in NC. The youngest Edward B. 13 Sept 1823 was born in SC. After that date, Robert moved his family to Hardin County, Tn to the old home place now owned by Kenneth B. Greer, Rt 1, Box 61A, Michie, Tn 38357. This is the site that the six kids and Nancy stayed. Barlett stayed on the home place after he married. He raised his family there also. Kenneth is from Bartlett's line. Myrtle Greer Christy, the youngest daughter of John Riley Greer, said that her great grandfather, Robert was born in Ireland. Nancy: Both 1850 & 1860 Hardin County, TN Census had Nancy Greer in the home of her Son Bartlett. 1840 Wilson Co, TN had Nancy Greer as head of household. All three were signers of the Articles of Agreement or Compact of Government entered into by the Settlers on the Cumberland River 1 May 1780. Trying to find the parents of Pleasant James ARNOLD, b. 1854 in MO (according to 1900 Ray Co., MO census--have no idea where he was before then). He is my husband's great-grandfather, and the census records also show that both his parents were b. in KY, but we don't know the county. A family has been mentioned in some old books which has a Pleasant ARNOLD. We are trying to determine if they ended up in MO in the mid 1800s (or earlier) and if he could have been an ancestor of our Pleasant James ARNOLD. This family seems to have first shown up in VA, travelled through KY, and ended up in TN. Some also went on to MO. Here is what was written: William ARNOLD m. Looking for any information on a Richard Anderson who was in Wilson County in the early 1800s. I have seen where he performed several marriages in that county and I am hoping to connect him to my Meedes Anderson. Meedes died in 1891 and is buried in the Bass Cemetery. I am looking for information on Hal Ray Dodd who lived in Rutherford DeKalb, or Wilson Countys in the 1880 to 1921 or 1922. He married Clara Stewart, daughter of Winfield S. and Rebecca A. (Corley) Stwart. They had two sons, Earl Braxton Dodd and Winifred Dodd. Hal Ray Dodd's mother was Bessie Lee, she married a Langford after Hal Ray's Father died. Hal Ray Dodd moved his family to Colorado Springs, Colorado in about 1921 for his health. He died on Easter Sunday in 1922. HUBBARD - OWEN Looking for parents and any connections to Pleasant HUBBARD b. about 1815 in Tn. Married 1st16 Nov 1835 Wilson Co. Locky OWEN b. about 1818 in Tn. Pleasant m. 2nd Phebe OWEN in 1855. Phebe is daughter of Stephen and Mary BATES OWEN. Pleasant and Locky were listed next to Josiah and Ritten BRYAN OWEN. Josiah was brother to above Stephen and I believe that my Locky may be a daughter of Josiah. In 1840 an estate sale of Reuben Hubbard included Pleasant Hubbard, Stephen and Josiah Owen. Is Reuben the father of Pleasant? Also mentioned in estate sale is Richard PEMBERTON. I have two Reuben's - one being born before 1775 according to census records of Wilson Co and then the other b. about 1812 - this Reuben m. Frances PEMBERTON in 1837. The HUBBARD were in Wilson Co., Tn as early as the 1820 census. The OWEN's were from Halifax Co., Va and I can provide additional info on them to anyone interested. Pleasant Hubbard moved to Webster Co., Ky where his son Gideon was living between 1870-80 but may have returned to Wilson Co., Tn as I can find nothing further on him or other descendants. A few OWEN's from Wilson Co. can be traced to Webster Co., Ky with this line as well.

I am seeking information on William McCorkle, son of Alexander McCorkle and Nancy Montgomery. The elder McCorkle settled in PA prior to 1746, moved to Rowan County, NC in about 1756. He was given 2400 acres of land in Wilson County TN for his patriotic activities in the Revolutionary War. William McCorkle married Margaret Blythe and they had a son Richard Blythe McCorkle, who was born in Rowan County, NC in 1786. Thus, it would appear that his trek to TN occurred after 1786. I have little or no information on the son, William McCorkle, my wifes great,great, great grandfather.
