November and December 2002 Queries
Please follow these guidelines for sending your query:
- If your lines are not in Williamson County, please do not enter a query here.
- Your query must have a STATED Williamson or adjacent County connection, or it will not be posted. What is your connection with Williamson County or with connecting counties?
- Enter your query exactly as you want it to appear.
- Please put all SURNAMES in CAPS. It is easier to see them. Use full names, not just surnames.
- Include dates that you know. Approximate dates are fine. Names without dates are not very useful, and may not be posted.
- To get a better response and coverage to queries posted here, all queries are also posted to the Williamson County Mailing List (TNWILLIA). If you would like to join this list check it out on the main Williamson County site.
Note: Query pages within the TNGenWeb project are for those researchers requesting or offering assistance in tracing their lineage. The TNGenWeb volunteers are dedicated to providing this FREE online Internet genealogical Web Site for the general public. It is NOT the policy of TNGenWeb to charge you.
It has come to our attention that some folks, when answering a query, have been asking to be paid for research. We do recognize that it would be fair to be asked to be reimbursed for postage and photocopy costs. However, charging research fees for information pertaining to the original query would be questionable at best.
If anyone is asked to pay for any information, other than to cover the cost of postage and copying,
please let the State Coordinator know.

My ggrandfather was James Hughes shown in the 1900 census in Pulaski
County, Arkansas, as being born in Tennessee and both parents being
born in Tennessee. His month of birth was given in that census as
December 1853. His marriage record (3/7/1892) to my ggrandmother
lists him as James J.T. Hughes. He was 20 years older than my
ggrandmother so I suspect that he had an earlier wife. I have been
told that there were a lot of Hughes families in Williamson County in
the 1800s. Does anyone have any information or hints that might
suggest one of them included my ggrandfather Hughes?

Kitturah A. DUNNIGAN and Samuel Lewis ANDREWS were married in
Williamson Co., TN on May 23, 1812. His brother, Thomas Jefferson
ANDREWS also married Kitturah's sister, Susannah, about the same time
in Williamson Co,, as well. Children were born in the county and then
the two couples moved onto FAYETTE CO., IL. I am unsure of the other
members of their migration group. I am interested in cooresponding
with anyone connected to either of these surnames, as well as other
Williamson Co. descendents who moved onto Fayette Co., IL.
