June 2001 Queries
Please follow these guidelines for sending your query:
-
If your lines are not in Williamson County, please do not enter a query here.
-
Your query must have a STATED Williamson or adjacent County connection, or it will not be posted.
What is your connection with Williamson County or with connecting counties?
-
Enter your query exactly as you want it to appear.
-
Please put all SURNAMES in CAPS. It is easier to see them. Use full names, not just surnames.
-
Include dates that you know. Approximate dates are fine. Names without dates are not very
useful, and may not be posted.
-
To get a better response and coverage to queries posted here, all queries are also posted to
the Williamson County Mailing List (TNWILLIA). If you would like to join this list check it out
on the main Williamson County site.
Note: Query pages within the TNGenWeb project are for those researchers requesting or offering
assistance in tracing their lineage. The TNGenWeb volunteers are dedicated to providing this
FREE online Internet genealogical Web Site for the general public. It is NOT the policy of
TNGenWeb to charge you.
It has come to our attention that some folks, when answering a
query, have been asking to be paid for research. We do recognize that it would be fair to be
asked to be reimbursed for postage and photocopy costs. However, charging research fees for
information pertaining to the original query would be questionable at best.
If anyone is asked to pay for any information, other than to cover the cost of postage and
copying,
please let the State Coordinator know.

I believe that John DAWSON and Thomas McCALL traveled together with
their wives and some children from South Carolina to Williamson Co.
More children were born after they arrived. Both men were born abt.
1780 and were in the county before 1805. Richard C. REYNOLDS b abt.
1772 brought his family from Georgia sometime after 1794. He left a
will in 1826.
John's son, John Martin DAWSON married Richard's daughter, Pheobe
Rhoda REYNOLDS in 1825 Williamson Co.; Thomas' son, Robert Rutledge
McCALL married John Martin's daughter, Mary DAWSON 1846 in Hardeman
Co. John's, son Robert Anderson DAWSON married Thomas' (not proven)
daughter Sarah N. McCALL. before 1832.
Also, Thomas McCALL's grandson, William Thomas McCALL (son of John
Quincy McCALL), married John Martin DAWSON's grandaughter, Buena
Vista NORTHCROSS (daughter of Nancy Melvina DAWSON NORTHCROSS) 1884
in MS.
