JANUARY 1999 Queries

Please follow these guidelines for sending your query:

In your research of queries, don't forget to check out the queries that were posted during the previous months. Links to them are at the bottom of this query page. Queries start with May 1998.

Note: Query pages within the TNGenWeb project are for those researchers requesting or offering assistance in tracing their lineage. The TNGenWeb volunteers are dedicated to providing this FREE online Internet genealogical Web Site for the general public. It is NOT the policy of TNGenWeb to charge you.

It has come to our attention that some folks, when answering a query, have been asking to be paid for research. We do recognize that it would be fair to be asked to be reimbursed for postage and photocopy costs. However, charging research fees for information pertaining to the original query would be questionable at best.

If anyone is asked to pay for any information, other than to cover the cost of postage and copying, please let the State Coordinator know.

Looking for information about Joseph DILLENDER & Jane SHUMATE who lived in Williamson CO. James was born in 1760. It is estimated that they married after 1780 and it James died in 1830 or later in Williamson CO, TN. I would like to have marriage information. I know of at least two marriages to Dillender daughters but do not know the girls first names. They married Butler Owens and Obadiah Pinson. Does anyone know these girls first names? There were at least two Dillender/Dever marriages when Mary & Polly married Amos & Simon respectively. I am interested in Joseph's son Elijah who married Roseanna. I don't know Roseanna's maiden name or exact birth date--it was approximately 1790. Elijah and Roseanna married around 1810. Has anyone seen a marriage record? I sure would appreciate any help with this elusive family. It is possible that the name was changed on emigration but I do not know when or where that occurred. Any help would be appreciated and I will gladly share! Patti Muncey Carpenter
