I am looking for any information on a Mary C. JOHNSON who married James S. WILLIAMS in Williamson Co., TN. I believe her middle name could be Cool. They were married Nov. 19, 1811. Her birthdate might be April 3rd or 30th. They had 12 children as follows: Henry, Joel, Martha (Patty), Phillip, Rosetta, Nancy C. (b 1820), James Thomas(b 1822), William A.(b 1824), S.B.(b 1826), John Sumner (b 1829), Allen (b 1831), and Susan (b1833). He was a Methodist circuit preacher and left Bolivar, TN for AR in 1850. Bolivar is in Hardeman county, Tn.

Mary Cool JOHNSON was supposedly related to the Lightfoot's of Virginia and Andrew JOHNSON, the 17th president of the U.S. Her father was Charles JOHNSON.. I believe they were originally from VA but I am not positive. Any information would be appreciated. Please contact me at .

I am researching the "Roots" of John PHILLIPS and Susanna GAMBILL PHILLIPS. John was born about 1810 and Susanna in 1814. They were married after 1830 in Williamson County Tn. Susanna was the daughter of Benjamin GAMBILL OF Bedford County. She Died in 1844 and John died before 1846. They had five sons, William, James, John W, Joseph, and Benjamin.

John W. WILLIAMS married Mahala SINGLETERY in Williamson County, Tenn March 28, 1823.I do not know any thing about their families. But they went to DeSota Parish La and raised a family of 8 children. John is buried in Grove Hill Cemetery South of Mansfield, La. Mahala resided in Titus County, Tx in the 1858 Census.I believe this is my gggrand-father. Jordan PHIPPS, born ca 1766 VA, died ca 1827 Williamson County. He married 23 Mar 1793 Penelope MCCULLOCK. After his death Nelly married Newton Rensher EDNEY. Jordan and Nelly's daughter Martha (Patsy) married Samuel EDNEY (son of Newton). Samuel and Martha moved to Texas in the mid-1830s. Looking for wife of Samuel GORDON and any other specific info on his/her origin or deaths. Samuel was believed to have been born circa 1730 Scotland, died after 1808. Came to America via VA and was a member of son Robert GORDON's (b.2/14/1763 d.6/6/1847) family when moved to Williamson County, TN in 1806 from KY. He and many of his children lived in Pulaski and Giles County, TN where Samuel died and was buried.

I am looking for the parentage of Samuel B.(Boyd) PATTON b. 1784 in SC. He married Sarah (Sally) D. STEPHENSON 31 Jan 1809 in Davidson Co., TN. When the county split, they were in Williamson Co. According to his obituary, he was an orphan. I know there is a connection to the Tristram PATTON, Isaac PATTON and other PATTON families in early Williamson County, but we can't place him with any of the families. I believe he was a younger brother to some of these early settlers. Also, Sarah (Sally) D. STEPHENSON was the daughter of James STEPHENSON and Rosannah. Williamson County has several RIGGS place names: Riggs Chapel & Cemetery, Riggs Crossings and Post Office, etc. Am curious if anyone knows the Riggs these landmarks were named for. My g-g-g-grandfather is in Henderson County,TN in 1820 with, I assume two RIGGS brothers, but since there were other Riggs' traveling across TN from North Carolina I wondered if their relatives and/or they may have stopped in Williamson Co. first.
