Researching the John Thomas SCOTT & Nellie BREWER family. Their son, Zachariah J. Scott, born Dec. 9, 1869, in TN, died Feb. 5, 1936, buried in the Caney Cem., at Talholt, OK. Zach moved his family to Adair Co., OK. He married Delsigne WORKMAN, born July 24, 1873, died Oct. 16, 1951, also buried in the Caney Cem., Five known children of Tom SCOTT are 1. My name is John Robinson. My mother's name is Frances Montague HUGHES (later Robinson, then Riley). Her father's name was John Gideon HUGHES, married to Marjorie RUCKER. His father's name was John F. I am looking for any information on the LILES family who were in the Wayne county area during the early to mid 1800's. I have Francis Marion LILES who fought with BIFFEL'S 9th during the Civil War. My father was ROBY ALDEN DURHAM, born 11-14-1908, married LEAH ELIZABETH BOND. My grandfather was SAMUEL OTHER DURHAM, born 3-20-1884. He married PEARL BEATRICE SIMS. My great grandfather was SAMUEL DAVID DURHAM, born 3-6-1855. He married MIRA BARNETT. My great great grandfather was JAMES DURHAM, born about 1814. He married PRUDENCE PERDUE. William HAYNES was JP for Dist. 1, Wayne County from 1848 through 1854; also on Tax List of 1836 in Dist. 2. His wife and family listed on U.S. Census in Hardin County 1960. Anyone researching this person? Trying to determine where he fits into my Hardin Co. and Lauderdale Co., AL HAYNES line.

I need to identify what counties historically contained the ground in Range 7, Section 2 around the Buffalo River. An unverified source puts 320 acres of my ancestors holdings in this area for Lawrence Co. in 1820/21, land granted for War of 1812 service.

I Have been trying to find a picture of the cherokee war chief, TAL TSU SKA , DOUBLEHEAD. I know that he was part of a Cherokee delegation that visited President Washington and it seems that there should be a picture of him somewhere. DOUBLEHEAD'S Daughter, CORNBLOSSOM married JACOB TROXEL and their daughter, Catherine married Jonathon BLevins, one of my very distant relatives.
