SAMPLE

James SAMPLE, born in 1750, in Frederick Co, Virgina served in that State's forces during the Revolutionary War. Subsequently he was listed in several records of Loudoun Co.. He was married to Sarah (last name unknown) in 1772. She was the daug hter of Catherine Thomas, and step-daughter of John Thomas. Sarah died ca 1794, after which James is said to have moved south into North Carolina, and Tennessee, settling in Washington County, where he died ca 1800, presumably leaving several children. An y information relating to James SAMPLE or his descendants would be very much appreciated.

FREDERICK SHULL 1690-1754. I have just completed the many family lines of my many times great grandfather Frederick Shull. The Shull family eventually settled in Watauga County, North Carolina and many descendants migrated into Carter, Johnson, Washington and Unicoi Counties, Tennessee in the 1800's. The family married into the Benjamin Ward, Jordon Councill, John Mast, Mathe w Howard and Nathan Horton families, all of whom orginally settled in Watauga County, North Carolina.

I'm looking for any info on Violet Boring/Boren, possibly the d/o Absolom Boring and Nancy Miller. This being a "today" discovery I had found, I know very little of her. My 5th G-grand father John Swanger/Swonger was b. @1775 unknown county. Lived in Washington Co. NC/TN. His Inventory of Estate dtd 8/18/1819 lists Violet Swonger and Joseph Young as the administrator. I have also found today that Greenberry Boring m. Mary Jane Ruble may have been married by Joseph Young (per Washington Co. marriage records via the internet). Another name I have found in the Boring line is Slagle. The Slagles and Swanger/Swanners lived by each other in Washington Co. TN and at least 3 of my Swanner broth ers married Slagle sisters. John Swanger's daughter, Nancy Swanger m. Dolphin Price s/o Mordecai Price and Rachel Boring/Boren, Absolom's sister. It has been iterated that Absolom's will dtd 11/28/1815 lists John Swanger as the wife of Violet. WEST

My great grandfather, James WEST, was in the Mountain Branch of the National Home for Disabl ed Volunteer Soldiers in Sept. of 1911. His declaration for a pension from his service in the Civil War says he lived there off and on. I also have papers saying he was there in January 1913. Where can I find records of the home for these years and perhap s pictures of the home and/or residents? James WEST served under Col. Brownlow in Company C, 1st Reg't., Tennessee Cavalry for the Union. He died August 19, 1923, so may be listed at the home at other dates.

My great-grandfather, Edward (or Zed) WILLIAMS, was born in Washingto n Co, Tennessee, on March 4, 1871 to Jessie and Dicy WILLIAMS. His siblings were Charles H. S., Bruce, and Bertie. He married Charlotte Octavia ("Lottie") WELLS in Wise Co, VA, in 1896. Later, they lived in Spaulding, AL, where he worked as an ore miner.H e was killed in a mining accident on December 2, 1914 and is buried in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Lipscomb, AL. I am trying to learn more about Edward's ancestors. I know nothing other than the names of his parents and will be very grateful for any information you may have on them. Many thanks!
