I am searching for relatives in Perry, Hardin, Wayne and any other Middle Tennessee counties. Most may have birthdates before or around 1850. I am especially interested in the ones who came from England and possibly Ireland before the 1850's. I appreciate any help, as the earliest names are very common. Thanks,

CARTWRIGHT Desire any information on JOSHUA CARTWRIGHT born 1775 VA? died 1740 Warren Co., TN. His wife was ELIZABETH born 1776 died Warren Co when? He was on the 1820 Warren Co census and is believed to have been in the county since the early 1800's or late 1790's. Where did he immigrate from? Who were his parents? William L. and Rebecca Cartwright? Who were Elizabeth's ancestors? what was her maiden name? Could she have been a NEWTON? (One son was named RICHARD NEWTON and a grandson JOHN EWTON) When did she die?
>From new information it appears that JOSHUA CARTWRIGHT (1775 VA?- 1840 Warren CO) might have been married twice. He had sons, RICHARD NEWTON (1801-1871), WILLIAM (1803-1878) and daughter, JUDA (1811-1867) with wife number one. He seems to have remarried before 1827 ELIZABETH BARNETT (1790 VA-1877 MO) who appears to have been married first to a CUNNINGHAM. JOSHUA and ELIZABETH had several children ELIZABETH 1827, GREENBERY 1829, JESSE 1831 and LEVI the youngest. Who was Joshua's first wife? Was she a NEWTON? When and where did she die? Who were Joshua's parents? Siblings? Would appreciate any assistance.

Looking for info re 4Ggrandfather, Anderson (Elihu) Northcut. He was married to Margaret Fults and lived in Warren/Coffee/ Grundy Counties (Hubbard's Cove area). He died by 1850, as Margaret appeared on 1850 Grundy Co. census with only the children (Isaac, Ervin - my 3GgrandF, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Christine). Possibly another child, Anderson age 16, was living with Adrian Northcut at this time. Elihu believed to be illigitimate. Who were his parents? When was he born? Margaret's parents were John Fults and Christina Kite, who came to TN from Rockingham Co., VA. When and where did Elihu and Margaret get married? Family story is Elihu was killed by a neighboring farmer after beating him in an impromptu horse race on the road to McMinnville one Sunday.
