SOLOMON, Baby Daughter  (1952-1952)

Campaign community– The baby daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. William Solomon Sunday night was buried at Friendship on Monday.

SOUTHARD,  Ella Dean  (1886 - 1953)

Illness Fatal to Mrs. Ella Southard
               Mrs. Ella Dean Southard, widow of T.F. Southard, died at Medical Clinic Saturday evening at 8:55 o’clock, following an illness of several weeks.  She was 67.  Mrs. Southard was the mother of Aulton, Ray R. and Carl Southard, all well known McMinnville residents.  Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o’clock at the chapel of High Funeral  Home. John W. High officiated and burial was in Riverside cemetery.  Mrs. Southard, native of Van Buren county, was born January 9, 1886. She was a daughter of William J. Rogers and Sarah Elizabeth Walker Rogers and she was married to Mr. Southard July 20, 1903. He died September 6, 1939. Mrs. Southard had been a resident of McMinnville for a number of years. Besides her sons, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret E. Walker, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Willie D. Rogers, Spencer, and Harold Rogers, Akron, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Eula Majorou, Akron. Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.

SOUTHARD, J.T. (Jack)  (1915-1952)

Southard Rites Set Saturday
               Funeral rites for J.T. (Jack) Southard, 36, will be held Saturday at Magness Memorial Baptist Church. The hour of  the service will be announced by High Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.  Mr. Southard died at his home, 306 N. Warren St., Thursday morning at 6:45 o'clock following a prolonged illness.   A native of Warren county, Mr. Southard was born November 5, 1915.  He was a son of Will Southard and Mary Ferguson Southard. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are four brothers, Beecher, Freeland, and Johnny Southard, McMinnville, and  Bobbie Southard, U.S. Navy, Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Christine Kelsey, McMinnville.  Arrangements are under the direction of High's.
