Rites for Mrs. Seals Held In Fort Worth Texas
Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Seals widow of Raden Seals, who died December 19, in Ft. Worth, Texas, were held the following day at the Central Church of Christ there. Burial took place in Idabelle, Okla. She is survived by two sons, James Wheeler Seals, Ft. SEAMONS, Nancy Rowland (circa 1880 - 1971)
Mrs. Nancy Rowland Seamons, 91-year-old resident of Bone Cave, died following an illness of three weeks duration at McMinnville Nursing Home Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. A native of Van Buren County and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the widow of the late W.H. Seamons. She was a daughter of the late W.T. and Martha Hash Rowland. Survivors include a son, Nile Seamons, Bone Cave; three daughters, Mrs. Raleigh Patton, LaFayette, Ga., and Mrs. Mack Mullins and Mrs. L.E. Harris, both of McMinnville; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Neal, Rock Island, and Mrs. Emma Johnson, Bone Cave, as well as 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were scheduled in High's Chapel at 4 P.M. Wednesday, John W. High officiating and with burial in Mt. View Cemetery. SEAMONS, Thomas Bryant (1901 - 1953)
Bryant Seamons, Merchant, Dies Rites Friday
Funeral services for Thomas Bryant Seamons, 52, retired merchant, were conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of High Funeral Home. Rev. Bill A. Jordon, Baptist minister of Chattanooga, and Stanley J. McInery, Minister of Westwood Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Mt. View cemetery. Mr. Seamons, a McMinnville merchant for six years, died at Faulkner Springs hospital Wednesday afternoon at 4:40 o'clock as a result of injuries received in a truck accident near his Bone Cave home on the previous Sunday. He suffered several broken ribs and a punctured lung in the accident. A native of Van Buren county, Mr. Seamons was born January 13, 1901. He was the son of W.H. Seamons and Nancy Rowland Seamons and he was married December 31, 1922 to Miss Emma Gertrude Miller. She died September 24, 1950. Mr. Seamons was engaged in the grocery business on Rebel Hill here from 1941 to 1947, moving to Florida at that time where he operated a motor court at St. Augustine until 1951. Returning here he had lived at Bone Cave since that time. Mr. Seamons was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents; five daughters Mrs. G.H. O'Neal, Chattanooga, Mrs. Edwin Whitlock, Brunswick, Ga., Mrs. G.H. Partin, Misses Tommye and Patricia Seamons, St. Augustine, Fla.; one brother, Sam Seamons, Bone Cave, and three sisters, Mrs. R.M. SEITZ, Dr. Albert (1868-1953)Dr. Albert Seitz, Retired Physician, Dies; Rites Today
Dr. Albert Seitz, retired McMinnville physician, died at his home on Sparta street Tuesday evening at 10:30 o'clock. He had beenin failing health for several years and confined for several years and confined for the past few months. Dr. Seitz was 85 years of age. Funeral rites will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence, 115 Sparta, with Allen Phy, minister of Central Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Riverside cemetery. A native of White county, Dr. Seitz was born April 27, 1868. He was a son of A. P. Seitz and Emma Young Seitz. He moved to McMinnville early in life and was educated in the public schools and Burritt College, Spencer. Dr. Seitz entered Vanderbilt University medical school and was graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree in the class of 1890. He later enrolled at Poly Clinic post- graduate medical school of New York. He was a lifelong member of Central Church of Christ. Dr. Seitz practiced medicine and surgery in McMinnville for over forty years, doing notable work in his profession until ill health forced his retirement. He was married to Mrs. Sally Myers Turner in 1892 and the couple made their home on North Spring Street for a number of years. She died in 1944 and Dr. Seitz had resided with his sisters on Sparta Street since that time. He is survived by two sisters, Misses Hallie and Jessie Seitz McMinnville. SEITZ, Minnie Lee (????-1952)Miss Minnie Seitz Dies Suddenly; Rites Monday
Miss Minnie Lee Seitz, native and lifelong resident of McMinnville, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, at the Seitz family home on Sparta Street. She had not been ill prior to a cerebral hemorrhage heart attack suffered only a short while before her death. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the residence. Allen Phy, minister of Central Church of Christ, officiated and burial was in Riverside cemetery. Miss Seitz was a daughter of A.P. Seitz and Emma Young Seitz and throughout her lifetime, she had lived at the family home on Sparta Street. She was of a retiring disposition and only those who knew her intimately realized her devotion to her family. She was a loyal and faithful member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a brother, Dr. Albert Seitz, retired, McMinnville physcian; and two sisters, Miss Jessie Seitz and Miss Hallie Seitz, McMinnville. SHELTON, Lantie Lusk (1876 - 1953)Mrs. Will Shelton Dies In Grundy
Mrs. Lantie Lusk Shelton, 77, wife of Will Shelton, retired Grundy county farmer, died unexpectedly at her home near Viola Friday morning at 10 o'clock. She apparently suffered a heart attack several hours earlier. Funeral services werE conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Wesley's Chapel cemetery. A native of Grundy county, Mrs. Shelton was born May 3, 1876. She was a daughter of Harrison Lusk and Lugania Warren Lusk and she was married to Mr. Shelton in 1894. They had resided in the Wesley's Chapel community for a number of years. Mrs. Shelton was a member of the Marvin's Chapel Methodist Church. She is survived by two brothers, Hubert Lusk, Altamont, and Otis Lusk, Kentucky; two sisters, Mrs. Jasper Rogers, Wesley's Chapel, and Mrs. John Shaw, Mississippi. SHERRELL, Elenor Louise Hunter (1873-1966)Mrs. Lou Sherrell, a native of Warren County, died at 9 a.m. Monday in Albany, Ky., following a lingering illness. She was 90. The body is being returned to McMinnville, and funeral services will be held Wednesday at High's Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Born Aug. 29, 1873, she was the daughter of Polk Hunter and Elvira Pettit Hunter, and she was a member of the Methodist Church. She was married to John Wesley Sherrell, who died in 1934. Survivors include two sons, Eugene Sherrell and Ray Sherrell, both of Louisville; one daughter, Mrs. Margorie Ogden of Albany; one brother, Tom Hunter of McMinnville, and four grandchildren. The body will be at the parlors of High Funeral Home until the hour of service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Spears Shockley, who died April 17, at the home of a sister near Doyle, were conducted April 19 at 2 p.m. at Union in White county. John W. High officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Shockley, widow of G.B. Shockley, died following an illness of two months. She was 74. A native of Van Buren county, she was a daughter of Drew Spears and Lodema Yates Spears. Mrs. Shockley was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include three brothers, G.G., R.C., and C.C. SHOCKLEY, James M. (circa 1861 - 1953)92-Year Old Man Dies In Van Buren
James M. Shockley, 92-year-old Van Buren resident, died at his home in the fourth district Friday afternoon at 4: 25 o'clock. He had been ill for a period of two weeks. Funeral rites were held at 2:30 o'clock at the Spencer Baptist Church. Rev. Reid Compton, the pastor officiated and burial was in Molloy cemetery. Born June 14, 1860, Mr. Shockley was a lifelong resident of Van Buren county. His parents were Wiley Shockley and Lucretia McCormic Shockley and he was married to Miss Carolyn Medley, who preceded hin in death. Mr. Shockley was a member of the Baptist church. His only daughter, Mrs. Annie McCormick, preceded him in death a week ago. Survivors include several grandchildren. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard, McMinnville, TN. Illness Fatal To Roy S. Short, 41
Roy Sherman Short, 41, formerly of Atlanta, Ga., died at Faulkner Springs hospital Wednesday afternoon at 4: 10 o’clock, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the chapel of High Funeral Home. Rev. H. Curtis Erwin, pastor of Magness Memorial Baptist church officiated and burial was in Riverside cemetery. A native of Hamilton county, Mr. Short was born July 1, 1912. He was a son of S. R. Short and Ada McBryer Short and he was educated in the public schools of his native county. Mr. Short was married in May of 1939 to Miss Elizabeth Van Hooser of McMinnville. She survives. Mrs. Shuster, 84, Dies At Walling
Mrs. Nancy Louisa Caroline Shuster, 84, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Chisam at Walling, White county, Tuesday, August 12, at 10: 55 a.m., following an illness of two years. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Walling Church of Christ with John W. High officiating. Burial was in Mt. View cemetery here. Mrs. Shuster born in White county, May 20, 1868 was a daughter of Douglas Shuster and Nancy Chisam Shuster. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Besides her daughter, she is survived by two grandsons, Telson Chisam, McMinnville and Royal Chisam, Walling.
