MICHAEL, Reba Eudyene  (1919 - 1953)

School Teacher Dies Of Illness
          Miss Reba Eudyene Michael, 33, a teacher in the Warren county school system for several years, died Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Medical Clinic, following an illness of several weeks.  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Centertown high school auditorium. Rev. Brownie Smith, Baptist minister, officiated and burial was in Centertown cemetery. Miss Michael, native  of Warren county, was born October 1, 1919.  She was a daughter of the late Frank Michael and Mrs. Matilda Lance Michael and she was educated in the public schools of the county. For several years Miss Michael had been a member of the faculity of Centertown school, teaching until she became ill. She was a member of the Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Linwood Michael, Centertown farmer, and two sisters, Mrs. Velta Thompson and Mrs. Imogene Hutcheson both of Nashville. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MILES, Amy Green  (1826 - 1920)

A Pioneer Woman Passes Away
                Mrs. Amy Green Miles died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.H. Brown, near Summitville, on Monday, Feb. 16.  She was born in Bedford county, near Shelbyville, March 23, 1826, and was therefore nearly 94 years of age, above 60 years being lived in Warren county, which was her home until about a year ago.  She was twice married, first to Riley Eddings, then in later years to Allen Miles, who preceded her to the grave 27 years ago.  She leaves two daughters, a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, having lived to see the fifth generation.  She had been physically helpless for a number of years, by retained her mentality remarkably well and was conscious until death came, which was painless and due to no disease.

MILLER, Bobby  (circa 1936-1994)

Bobby Miller succumbs to illness
             Short Mountain community resident and DeKalb native Bobby Brown Miller, 58, died May 11 at St. Thomas Hospital after a three-week illness.  A self-employed painter and a member of the Apostolic Ark, he was the son of Laura Underhill Miller of Smithville and the late Otis Miller.  He is survived by his wife, Elsie Hale Miller; one son, Billy Miller of Smithville; five daughters, Carolyn Golden, Lisa Andrews, Tammy Carter, Tabitha Wann and Misty Miller, all of Smithville; two sisters, Wanda Jones of McMinnville and Pauline Burton of Smithville; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.  Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel in Smithville with Billy Andrews officiating.  Burial will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.  Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville is in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Emma Mary Dunlap  (circa 1868-1949)

Mrs. Miller, 81, Dies Saturday; Rites Held Sunday
          Mrs. Emma Mary Miller, widow of a former Warren county sheriff, died at the home of a son, Raleigh B. Miller, Lind street, Saturday morning at 8:09 o'clock after three months illness. She was 81.  Funeral services were conducted a the Miller home on Sparta road Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock.  Rev. William H. Moss and Rev.  R.C. Reid, Methodist pastors, officiated and burial was in Mt. View cemetery. Mrs. Miller, a native of Sequatchie county, was born September 28, 1867. She was a daughter of David C. Dunlap and Vinie Hunt Dunlap and was married to the late W. V. D. Miller, former sheriff. He died on June 21, 1932. In addition to serving as a peace officer, Mr. Miller was a prominent Mud Creek farmer.  The deceased was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Besides R.B. Miller, Mrs. Miller is survived by three other sons, E.Q. (Tip) Miller, well known farmer and member of the Warren county court; Euclid D. Miller, Havana, Cuba, and Eugene C. Miller. MILLER, Ezra Albert  (circa 1924-1994)

Ezra Miller succumbs to two-year illness
         Centertown resident Ezra Albert Miller, Jr., 71, died Saturday at Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro after a two-year illness.  A retired mechanic, truck driver and nurseryman, he was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Madison Street Baptist Church.  He was the son of the late Albert Miller and Vernie Yates.  He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Bonnie Mae Ward; three daughters, Lois Tenpenny of McMinnville, Betty Williams of Cleveland, Ga., and Inas Peters of Winterhaven, Fla.; five sons, Albert Richard Miller of McMinnville, Joe Melton and Jimmy Lee Miller, both of Plant City, Fla., Titus Lake Miller of Lakeland, Fla. and John Thomas Miller of Knoxville; two sisters, Betty Martin of Nashville and Joene Miller of Spencer; one brother, Raymond Miller of Cleveland, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at High's Chapel with Carl Smith officiating.  Military graveside rites will follow at Long Cemetery in Van Buren County.  High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Gillem M.  (???? - 1993)

Two-week illness claims Mr. Miller
                    Mahathy Hill community resident and DeKalb County native Gillem M. Miller died April 3 at DeKalb General Hospital after a two-week illness.  A farmer and a member of the Banks Presbyterian Church, he was the son of the late Tom and Mary Underhill Miller and is survived by several nieces and nephews.  Services were held yesterday at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel in Smithville with burial following at Banks Cemetery.  Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Gwyneth Green  (circa 1921-1991)

Gwyneth Miller
                Former Warren County resident Gwyneth Green Miller, 70, died July 11 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union after an extended illness.  A retired secretary and member of the Glass Church of Christ in Obion, she was the daughter of the late Hervey and Grace Green of McMinnville and was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter M. Miller, in 1984.  She is survived by one daughter, Jeananne (Cissy) Miller of Troy; three sons, David M. and Thomas Miller, both of Union City and Robert H. Miller of British Columbia; and four grandchildren.  Services were held yesterday at Cryer and Son FUneral Home Chapel in Obion with Jack Phillips and Royce Stewart officiating.  Burial followed at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.  Cryer and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Hayes J. (1882 - 1953)

Hayes J. Miller Dies At Sparta
             Hayes J. Miller, retired Van Buren county farmer, died at White county hospital at Sparta Tuesday at 8:40 p.m. following an illness of nine days.  He was 71 years of age.  Funeral rites were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Old Union church in White county with John W. High officiating. Burial was in Old Union cemetery.  A native of White county, Mr. Miller was born May 18, 1882. He was a son of  John Riley Miller and Mary Lawson Miller and he was married in January 1920 to Miss Narrie Sparkman. She died April 9, 1951. Mr. Miller was a member of the Baptist Church and resided near Doyle.  He is survived by a son, G. Irwin Miller, Oak Ridge; one daughter, Miss Mabel Miller, Doyle, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Rowland, Doyle.  Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.

MILLER, Herman Dewey  (circa 1920-1987)

          Campaign resident Herman Dewey Miller, 67, died of an extended illness at the River Park Hospital emergency room Monday morning.  A carpenter and painter, he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a native of Cumberland County.  Married to the former Gertrude Rogers, he was a son of the late Thomas Virgil and Sylvia Neely Miller.  Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughter, Patsy Rowland and Charlotte Grissom, both of Campaign.  He is also survived by his stepmother, Margie Miller of McMinnville, sister Mary Chandler of Jacksonville Fla., brother Bertle Miller of Campaign, half-sister  Clemmie Johnson of Nashville, half-brothers Tom and Andy Miller of McMinnville, Dave Miller of Wichita Falls, Texas, and four grand- children.  James Rutledge and Steve Breedlove will conduct services in High Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday.  Intombment will be in Friendship Cemetery.

MILLER, Howard P.  (circa 1913-1993)

Accountant Howard Miller, 80, dies
              Long-time local accountant Howard P. Miller, 80, died suddenly May 14 at River Park Hospital.  A certified public accountant in McMinnville since 1947, a member of the McMinnville Shrine Club and the Almenah Temple and a member of the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he was the son of Oscar L. and Irene Mangham Miller.  He is survived by his wife, Irene Fisher Miller; one daughter, Anita Miller Powers of Bone Cave; one son, Nelson Miller of Macon, Ga.; one brother, O.L. Miller, Jr., of Nashville and one sister, Helen Newsom of Columbus, Ga.  Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at High's Chapel with Gary Whitworth officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. Visitation begins today after 1:30 p.m. until time of service.  High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Irene Gribble  (circa 1917-1991)

Irene Miller
          Mrs. Irene Gribble Miller, age 74, succumbed to a brief illness June 18 at the Nashville residence of her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Charles Medlen.  A housewife and member of the Presbyterian Church, she was born June 6 in Warren County to Andrew Gribble and Delma McGinness Gribble.  She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Medlen of Nashville; a son, Mark Miller of Nashville; two sisters, Itera Wilson of McMinnville and Juanita Shelton of Woodbury.  Three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.  Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, George Miller, who died in 1962.  Funeral services will be at Woodbine Funeral Home in Nashville Thursday at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Banks Cemetery in DeKalb County.  Information provided by Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home.

MILLER, Jessie B.  (circa 1924-1999)

                  Morrison resident and Cannon County native Jessie B. Miller, 75, died May 19 at Boulevard Terrace Nursing Home in Murfreesboro after an extended illness.  A machinist with Burroughs-Ross-Colville and Mayfield Lumber and a member of the Assembly of God Church, he was the son of William and Pearl Davenport Miller.  He is survived by one son, Kenneth Miller; one daughter, Linda E. Adcock of Murfreesboro; five brothers, James Miller of Manchester, Junior and Roy Miller, both of McMinnville, Huey Miller of Woodbury, and Thomas Miller of Bell Buckle; two sisters, Lena Jones and Willie Pearl Hale, both of McMinnville; four grandchildren and two great-grand-children. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Rev. Thomas Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. Visitationwill be held from 10 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.  High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Lela Phillips  (circa 1903-1983)

Lela Miller
          Mrs. Lela Phillips Miller, 82-year-old resident of Route 2, Morrison died of a two-week illness in River Park Hospital at 10 a.m. Thursday.  A native of Huntsville, Ala., and a member of Morrison Baptist Church, she was the wife of Dave Miller and a daughter of the late Wesley and Floria Phillips.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Lynn of McMinnville and Beatrice Potter of Viola.  She is also survived by a stepdaughter and two stepsons, Annie Jane Bartlett, Murfreesboro, Edward Miller of Summitville, Junior Miller of Athens, Ga., five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  The body is in state at High Funeral Home.  Ralph Hoover and Roger Davis will conduct services at High's Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Interment will be in Bascom Cemetery.

Libby Miller
             Murfreesboro resident Libby Miller, 63, died May 26.  She was the daughter of Henry Clay and Ida Elizabeth Wilson.  Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, Ed Miller; two daughters, Henrietta Towry of Fayetteville and Frances Rhodes of Murfreesboro; one sister, Mrs. Hubert Boyd of McMinnville; and one brother, H.C. WIlson of Georgia. Services were held yesterday at Jennings and Myers Funeral Home with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery in Rutherford County.  Information courtesy of High Funeral Home.

MILLER, Marie Wood  (circa 1910 - 1999)

Marie Wood Miller, 89
           McMinnville resident and Little Rock, Ark., native Marie Wood Miller, 89, died April 11 at her home after a lingering illness.  A homemaker and a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, she was a member of the Westwood Garden Club for several years and the Ben Lomand Garden Club  She was involved in numerous children's activities including reading children's stories on radio and at the library.  She was a girl scout leader and operated a nursery school in her home for several years.  The daughter of Dr. Guy and Mary Solf Wood, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell B. Miller in 1994.  She is survived by one daughter, Pat Bonner Bigbee of McMinnville; one granddaughter, Robin Bonner Phillips of McMinnville; one grandson Dr. Bob Bonner of Portland, Maine; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and John Phillips, both of McMinnville.  Services were held Tuesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Father James Bretl officiating.  Burial followed at Viola Cemetery.  High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Martha Edna   (circa 1928-1985)

DeKalb County resident Mrs. Martha Edna Miller, 56, died in Doctor's Hospital, Smithville, Saturday.  A native of DeKalb County adn member of the Presbyterian Church, she was the wife of Joe Miller.  Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Miss Bonnie Lou Miller and Mrs. Connie Sue Cantrell, both of Smithville.  She is also survived by three sisters, McMinnville residents Mrs. Itera Wilson and Mrs. Juanita Shelton and Mrs. Irene Miller of Nashville.  Buddy Pope conducted services in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday.  Interment was in Banks Cemetery.

MILLER, Norrie Sparkman  (1900-1951)

White County Rites For Mrs. Norrie Miller
                    Funeral rites for Mrs. Norrie Miller, 50, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Old Union church in White county. Burial took place in the Old Union Cemetery.   Mrs. Miller died at an Oak Ridge hospital Monday morning at 2:20 o'clock following an illness of three months.  A native of Van Buren county, Mrs. Miller was born December 2, 1900. Her parents were George Sparkman and Lou Roberts Sparkman and she was married to H.J. Miller. He survives.  Mrs. Miller was a member of the Baptist church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Miller is survived by one son, Irving Miller. Oak Ridge, and one daughter, Miss Mabel Miller, Doyle.  Also one sister, Mrs. Charles Sparkman, Chattanooga. Arrangements by High Funeral Home.

MILLER, Ozella Hale  (circa 1916-1970)

            Ozella Hale Miller, 54-year-old resident of Lemont Road, Spencer, died at her residence Wednesday July 29, at 10:30 a.m.  She was a daughter of the late J. E. and Martha Ella McCoy Hale.  Surviving are her husband, George Miller, and two brothers, John Hale and Bradford Hale, both of Spencer.  Funeral services were conducted Thursday , July 30, at the Spencer Baptist Church, but Rev. H. D. Knight, with burial following in the Long Cemetery.  High's Inc., was in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Paralee York  (1884-1952)

Colored Woman's Rites Held Sunday
Funeral rites for Paralee Miller, 67, widow of Bud Miller, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the East End Drive Church of Christ, Ben Bates officiated and burial was in Martin's Charge cemetery. The deceased passed away Thursday afternoon at 12: 16 o'clock at her home in the sixth district. She had been ill seven weeks.  A native of Van Buren county, she was born October 15, 1884. Her parents were Hugh L. York and Harriet York and she was  a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are two sons, Finis Miller, McMinnville, and Wiley Miller, Detroit, Mich., and one daughter, Willie Eaton, Detroit, Mich.  High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Raleigh Bryan

           Raleigh Miller
Retired U.S. Navy Captain Raleigh Bryan Miller, Sr., died Saturday in Alvin C. York Medical Center, Murfreesboro. A native of the Rowland community of Warren County, he attended Burritt College in Spencer, Middle Tennessee State University and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1919. He served in the Navy for __ years attaining the rank of captain. His career included service in ships of the Atlantic, Pacific and Asiatic Fleets, shore duty in the Naval Academy, and recruiting duty. During World War II he commanded the USS Ranier, an ammunition ship and the USS Karnes, an attack transport. Upon retirement from the Navy, he returned to Warren County were he was active as a farmer, organized a Junior National Rifle Association Club and established Ben Lomand Rural Telephone Cooperative, serving as its president from 1953-58. Capt. Miller was an elder emeritus of Rock Island Presbyterian Church as well as being a member of Campaign Masonic Lodge and McMinnville Exchange Club. He is survived by his wife, Josephine, brother E.Q. (Tip) Miller, son Raleigh B. Miller, Jr., six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rock Island Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at McMinnville Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shiloh Cemetery at Mud Creek.

MILLER, Rassie  (circa 1893-1952)

Colored Woman Dies In Cleveland, Ohio
Rassie Miller, 59, McMinnville colored woman, died Thursday while  visiting her daughter, Edna Childress, in Cleveland, Ohio.  The body was  returned here and funeral services were held Sunday at Clark's Chapel  Methodist Church. Rev. F.S. Sutton officiated and burial was in Riverside  cemetery.  A native of Sparta, the deceased had been ill about six weeks  prior to her death.  Her husband, Will Miller, preceded her in death  several years ago.  In addition to her daughter, she is survived by  another daughter Mildred Miller, McMinnville.  Love-Cantrell Funeral  Home was in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Ronny  (1948-1950)

Miller Child Dies After Brief Illness
                    Ronny Miller, 21-month -old son of Jesse B. Miller and Rosa Gann Miller,
died in a local Sanitarium Tuesday evening at 8:30 o'clock after an illness of about eight hours. Funeral rites were held at High Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with Vestal Chaffin, minister of the East End Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was at Grange Hall cemetery. The child was born October 25, 1948. In addition to the parents, he is survived by one brother and one sister, the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Miller, McMinnville, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Gann.

MILLER, Russell Boynton  (circa 1908-1994)

Russell Miller, 86
               McMinnville resident and Little Rock, Ark. native Russell Boynton Miller, 86, died Oct 16 at his home after an extended illness.  The retired manager of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Mr. Miller was a former member of the McMinnville Exchange Club, a former scout leader and a former member of the McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce.  He was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church.  The son of the late Lewis and Susan Haynes Miller, he is survived by his wife, Marie Miller; one daughter, Patricia Bonner Bigbee of McMinnville; and two grandchildren.  Services were held Tuesday at St. Catherines Catholic Church with Father Joe Lubrano officiating.  Burial followed at Viola Cemetery.  A Rosary service was held Monday evening at High's.  Memorial donations may be made to the Magness Memorial Library.  High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Tom Austin Miller, 69, dies suddenly
         Smithville resident and DeKalb County native Tom Austin Miller, 69, died suddenly April 2 at DeKalb General Hospital.  A retired employee of the Alexandria Garment Factory and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he was the son of the late Claude and Lula Ferrell Miller.  He is survived by his wife, Ammie Warren Miller; one son, Mark Miller of Smithville; two brothers, James Duber Miller of Dowelltown and Oliver Miller of Smithville; and three sisters, Mildred Evans, Dorothy Vannatta and Margie Washer, all of Smithville.  Services were held Sunday at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel in Smithville with E.H. MILLRANEY, J.P.  (circa 1924-2000)

            McMinnville resident and Warren County native J.P. Millraney, 76, died Nov. 16 at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.  A retired master sergeant with the U.S. Army serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, he was the son of Joe L. and Loueva Hillis Millraney; and was preceded in death by brothers, Hugh and James Frank Millraney; and sister, Lucille Desnoyer.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret Dezsy Millraney; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Anna Millraney of McMinnville; stepson and daughter-in-law, Victor and Dorothy Scharf of Warren, Mich.; and grandsons, Jeffery Millraney of McMinnville, Tom and Mark Scharf of Warren, Mich.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High's Chapel with Chaplain John Rasmussen officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery on Highway 30 with graveside rites administered by the Fort Campbell Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service today at High's. High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MILLS, Cecil Willard  (circa 1901-1963)

          Cecil Willard Mills, 62, of Lewisburg died at 1 a.m. Monday in a local hospital. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Baptist Church in Petersburg. The Rev. Leslie McClure officiated. Burial was in Old Orchard Cemetery.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Rogers Hitt Mills; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Hanes, Petersburg, and Mrs John Foster, Shelbyville; a son, Gilmore Mills, Salem, Ohio; his mother, Mrs. Mary Mills, Hartselle, Ala., three sisters, Mrs. Willie Reed, Mrs. Shirley Moore, and Mrs. James Oake; three brothers, Alfred Mills, Ewing Mills and Eulis Mills and nine grandchildren.

MILLS, Mary Jane  (circa 1909-1997)

          Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Mills, age 88, of 111 Gill Circle, Petersburg were conducted at 11:00 o'clock Monday morning at the Petersburg Chapel of the McCauley Funeral Home with Rev. Aubrey Knois officiating.  Burial followed in the Old Orchard Cemetery.  Mrs. Mills died Saturday afternoon in NHC, Lewisburg following a long illness. She was a native of Coffee County and was a daughter of the late Harrison R. and Minnie Bell Tosh Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil W. Mills.  She is survived by one daughter, Opal Lee Hames of Petersburg; one son, James Gilmore Mills of Huntsville, Alabama; one brother, Dalton Rogers of Lewisburg; one sister, Alma Rogers McBride of McMinnville; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.  Visitation with the family was Sunday from 1-9 at the Petersburg Chapel of the McCauley Funeral Home.

MITCHELL, Addison(???? - 1953)

Addison Mitchell, Known Here, Dies
               Addison Mitchell, of Tullahoma, died in Murfreesboro Monday of last week as a result of a stroke of paralysis suffered a few days earlier at his home.  Mr. Mitchell was married to the former Miss Martha Myers, of McMinnville and the couple was well known here; she died about two years
ago. Mrs. Mitchell was a sister of Mrs. Dave Hennenger of Palmer and Andrew Myers of Smyrna Community.

MITCHELL, Dr. John G.  (????-1956)

Warren Native Dies In Oklahoma
The Standard was informed this week of the death of Dr. John G. Mitchell, educator and a native Warren countian, at Seminole, Oklahoma.  Lon Foster, of Oklahoma City another native Warren countian, who attended school near Cherry Springs in the 11th district of the county with Mitchell forwarded the information. Having attended George Peabody College in Nashville, Mitchell moved to Oklahoma in 1905 where he was elected superintendent of schools at Checotah. In 1919 Dr. Mitchell became president of Central State College at Edmond, Okla., until 1931 when he left after a difference with former governor William "Alfallfa Bill" Murray. The same year Mitchell became superintendent of Seminole schools until 1945, when he retired. He is survived by his wife, Elsie; one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur McCutchan, Capitola, Calif; one sister, Mrs. H. E. Smartt, Ft. Worth, Texas; two nephews H. B. Mitchell and Earnest Smartt both of Seminole and a niece, Mrs. Thelma Winn, Dallas, Texas. Funeral services and burial were held there Saturday.

MITCHELL, Joseph L.  (???? - 1884)

            Joseph L. Mitchell died at 6 o'clock this morning of typho-malarial fever at the residence of Thomas H. Pearce, his brother-in-law, No. 154 Chestnut street.  Mr. Mitchell was a young and enterprising merchant of this city, having come here about one year ago from Rutherford county, and his death will be regretted by numerous friends.  His remains will be taken to Murfreesboro for interment this afternoon. -- Nashville Banner.
                Deceased was a brother of Mr. Ed S. Mitchell, of this place.

MITCHELL, Kelly O.  (1879 - 1953)

K.O. Mitchell, Veteran Farmer, Dies Unexpectedly
              Kelly O. Mitchell a well known farmer of the Grange Hall community, died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday evening at 7;30 o’clock, following a heart attack suffered only a few moments prior to his death.  He was 73.  Funeral rites were held Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Grange Hall Church of Christ. John W. High officiated and burial was in Grange Hall cemetery.  Mr. Mitchell, native and life-long resident of the county, was born January 21, 1879. He was a son of Harmon Titus Mitchell and Mattie Emmalene Young  Mitchell and he was a member of the Church of Christ.  Devoting his life to farming, Mr. Mitchell was also interested for a number of years in political activities in Warren county and was widely known throughout the county.  He was first married to Miss Josephine Sparkman February , 1904 and she died May 7, 1910. He was married in 1913 to Miss Mollie Gann.  She survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mitchell is survived by one son, V. Odra Mitchell, Grange Hall, and a daughter, Mrs. Willene Shadrick, Nashville. Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.
