Mrs. Hill’s Brother Claimed By Death
W. H. Clack, brother of Mrs. Virgil Hill of McMinnville, died Saturday at his home in Dunlap. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church there Sunday and burial took place in Dunlap. Leatha Faulkner's Mother Succumbs
Betty Clark, 70, mother of Leatha Faulkner, well known McMinnville colored woman, died at her daughter's home here Sunday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock. Her death was caused by a heart attack. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Sparta Church of Christ with Calvin Dowell officiating. Burial was in Cherry Creek cemetery. A native of Van Buren County, the colored woman had made her home in Sparta for a number of years but had resided with her daughter here for the past year. CLARK, Fred Leroy (circa 1922 - 2001)
Fred LeRoy Clark, 79
Quebeck resident and Fresno, Calif., native Fred LeRoy Clark, 79, died Jan. 21 at White County Hospital. A heating and air conditioning businessman and a retired Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy, he served his country in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II before retiring after 24 years in the service. He was involved in the White, Putnam and Warren County Genealogical societies and was president of the White County Genealogy Historical Club. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Thousand Oaks, Calif. The son of the late Fred and Margaret Beck Clark, he was preceded in death by brothers, George, Johnny, Bob and Harvey. He is survived by his wife, Willie M. (Billie) Swack Clark; sons, Michael, Allan and Charles Clark, all of Doyle; and nephew, Bob Clark Jr. of Thousand Oaks. Services were held Tuesday at Thurman Funeral Home Chapel in Sparta with Bobby Wilhite officiating. Burial followed at Skurlock Cemetery with full military honors. CLARK, Laura Anderson (1877 - 1953)
Mrs. Laura Clark Dies Of Illness In Chattanooga
Mrs. Laura Anderson Clark, 76, widow of Thurman B. Clark, died at Physicians and Surgeons hospital, Chattanooga, Tuesday evening at 10:45 o’clock, following an illness of a year. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at Bluff Springs Church of Christ. John W. High officiated and burial was in Webb cemetery. Born October 8, 1877 in DeKalb county, Mrs. Clark was a daughter of S.W. Anderson and Martha Jane Ferrell Anderson and she was married to Mr. Clark in 1897. The Clarks made their home near Dibrell for a number of years where he operated a farm. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harry E. Arnold, Chattanooga, and Mrs. W. J. Crosslin, Rochester, Minn.; five sons, Claude, Gerald, and Sidney Clark, Chattanooga, Beecher Clark, McMinnville, and Thomas Clark, Rossville, Ga., one sister, Mrs. Lucy A. Chestnut Grove community – Mrs. Ethel Dunn and children Zelta and Jimmy and Horace Brown left for Pikeville Wednesday evening to attend the funeral of Mrs. Dunn’s brother, Leonard Clark who died suddenly Sunday evening at Dayton, Ohio and was buried at Pikeville, Thursday afternoon.

Thomas B. Clark Dies Of Attack
Thomas Byrd Clark, Dibrell farmer for a number of years, died at the home of his son, Gerald Clark, in Chattanooga Friday morning at 9:15 o’clock. His death resulted from a heart attack. Mr. Clark was 77. Funeral services were held at Bluff Springs Church of Christ Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. Stanley J. McInery, minister of Westwood Church of Christ, officiated and burial was in Webb cemetery. Born in White county, March 27, 1876, Mr. Clark was a son of Green Clark and Alice Mackey Clark and he was married to Miss Laura Anderson. She survives. Mr. Clark was a member of the Church of Christ and had been in Chattanooga for the past two months where his wife is confined to a hospital. He had resided at Dibrell for a number of years. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by four sons, Beecher Clark, McMinnville, Claude and Sidney Clark, Chattanooga, and Thomas M. Clark, Rossville, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Henry E. Arnold, Chattanooga, and Mrs. W. J. Crosslin, Rochester, Minn., two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Johnson and Mrs. M. Brown, and one brother, P. A. Clark, all of Chattanooga. High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

CLARK, Thurman (1893-1952)
Thurman Clark, Retired School Teacher, Dies
Thurman Clark, retired school teacher, died Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. Following an illness of six months. Until two weeks ago, Mr. Clark had been confined to Thayer VA hospital, Nashville. He was 59. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Rev. J.A. Booth, minister of Rock Island Presbyterian Church, officiated and burial took place in Mt. View cemetery. A native of Warren county, Mr. Clark was born at Rock Island July 9, 1893. He was a son of the late John B. Clark, noted Warren county educator, and the late Mary Martin Clark, and he was married to the former Miss Ina Allen, who survives. Mr. Clark served with the Army during World War I and was for many years engaged in teaching work. Besides he wife, he is survived by two sons, Thurman Clark, Jr., Detroit, Mich., and Paul Clark, McMinnville; a daughter, Mrs. Haskell H. Hayes, Nashville; one brother Benton Clark, McMinnville, and two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Dugin,Woodbury, and Mrs. Hazen Seip, Detroit. William Clark, 70, Dies In Van Buren
William M. Clark, Van Buren county farmer, died at his home on Rocky River Sunday evening at 11:30 o'clock. He was 70 years of age. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at Crain Hill Church of Christ. John W. High officiated and burial was in Crain Hill cemetery. A native of Van Buren county, Mr. Clark was born January 20, 1882. He was a son of A.C. Clark and Elizabeth Grissom Clark and he was married August 28, 1910 to Miss Maggie Hillis. She survives. Besides his wife, Mr. Clark is survived by three sons, Clifford, Ohio, and Bert Clark, North Carolina; two daughters, Mrs. W.M. Clark and Eston Clark, Dayton, Hayes Daylight and Miss Stella Clark, Laurelburg. Also one sister, Mrs. Ann Grissom, Laurelburg. CLENDENON, Lannie Villa (circa 1913-1998)
Lannie Villa Clendenon, 85
Smithville resident and Warren County native Lannie Villa Clendenon, 85, died unexpectedly March 29 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital. A retired nurseryman, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of James and Nettie Bouldin Clendenon, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Jadie Panter in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Janet Clendenon; one daughter, Judy Bottoms of McMinnville; one son, Tony Clendenon of Murfreesboro; one step-daughter, Sylvia Southard of McMinnville; and one sister, Mildred Hillis of McMinnville. Services were held Tuesday at High's Chapel with Marion Ward officiating. Burial followed at Hills Creek Cemetery with military graveside rites administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
