Pineapple Cream Dessert

(Mama S.)

1 pint boiling water

1 cup sugar

juice of 1 lemon

Dissolve 1/2 cup cornstarch in cold water, add to water and sugar and cook until clear.
Whites of 3 eggs, and pinch salt, beaten stiff. Add to cooked mixture when cold, then add small can pineapple, cut into pieces. Color green. Serve with whipped cream. Fresh peaches or strawberries may be used.
