Banburry Tarts

(M.D. Clifton)

1 cup raisins, chopped

1 cup nuts, chopped

1 egg

3 large soda crackers

juice and grated rind of 1 lemon

3 tbsp. melted butter

Bake in tarts made of the following pastry dough:
1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup lard

1/2 tsp. salt

water

Glaze tops with:
1/2 cup evaporated milk

1 egg yolk, beaten

Cut out round. Moisten half of dough with water and after filling with raisin mixture, fold in half and press edges together with a fork. Cut slits in top for steam. Tart measures 3-4" when cut.
