Fudge Frosting

(Valley Smoot)

2 squares chocolate

1/3 cup cold water

2 cup sugar

salt

2 tbsp. corn syrup

2 tbsp. butter

Cut chocolate fine. Combine with milk. Heat slowly until chocolate is melted. Heat until mixture is smooth and well blended. Add sugar, salt, syrup, and boil slowly until sugar is dissolved, stirring. Boil until a small amount forms a soft ball when tested in cold water. Remove from fire while testing. Add vanilla and butter. Cool until thick enough to spread.
