1 large loaf bread, stale

2 or 3 large onions

2 tbsp. lard

1 pint water

1 tsp. sage

2 eggs

salt and pepper

oysters, if desired

Break bread into small bits. slightly fry onions, not brown, in lard. Add water and boil, add to crumbs, boiling hot. Stuff fowl.
