Dear Sir
When at Clarksburg last, I examined the County Clerks Office for a conveyance to Joseph Honecher of 1000 acres of land on Bonds Creek, part of 4000 acres patented to John Phillips in 1786. I did not succeed in finding it there, Since my return it has been suggested to me that it might be recorded in the Old District Chancery Court Office of Clarksburg -- I must therefore ask the favor of you to examine for such a deed at the Superior Court Office and if there, send me an Authenticated Copy. Your attention to this request at your earliest convenience will greatly oblige.
         Yours truly
         J. P. McKinney
We are all well.
