The following contains a correct Inventory of the
property and Effects
belonging to the Estate of Harvy Herrington, late
of said County
deceased to Wit.
one Negro woman Named Mary about 50 years of age
one Negro woman Named Maria about 70 years of
age
This day came Miles J Herrington Administrator
of the Estate of Harvy
Herrington decd. who being duly sworn says that
the foregoing
Inventory is correct to the best of his knowledge
and belief sworn to
and subscribed before me May 1st 1858.
That said deceased died sized and possess of two
Negro Woman
slaves to wit Mary a Woman about fifty years of
age and Merea also a
Woman about Seventy years of age that said last
named Negro
Woman is nearly or quite blind and has been for
many years and
that she is valueless & will in all probability
become a charge on the
Estate of said deceased. Your petitioner
would further represent
that in as much as one of said negro Woman is
Valueless and in
fact a charge upon the estate of decendent and
that the other negro
waman is advanced in life and of no great value
that it would be to
the interest of intestates Estate to sell both
of said negro woman
together and as in duty bound.
