Petty The funeral for William Marshall "Bill" Petty of Quito was held on Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Munford Funeral Home with Rev. John Stavely officiating. Interment was in Helen Crigger Cemetery. Mr. Petty, a farmer and landowner, was a lifelong resident of Tipton County and a veteran of World War II. He died on Friday in the Memphis Veterans Administration Hospital and was 71. He was a member of the Quito United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mary Modlin Petty; two sons, William M. Petty Jr. and Henry Clayton Petty of the Quito vicinity; a daughter, Mary Louise Petty of Millington; his mother, Lola Hewitt Petty of Memphis; two brothers, Ben Petty of Brighton and Roy Petty of Oregon; a sister; Pauline Lee of Chicago, IL and four grandchildren.
