Martin will celebrate Golden Anniversary Sunday While sitting in a Model T Ford in Sumner, MS on March 8, 1923, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Martin exchanged their wedding vows. The couple, who have resided for 17 years but formerly lived in Munford will be honored with a Golden Anniversary reception from 3-5pm on March 4th in the fellowship hall of the Dellwood Baptist Church in Frayser. The reception is being given by Mrs. L. T. Coughlan, Mrs. Ray Womack, Mrs. Jimmie Burk, and Mrs. Billy Martin. The couple have two children, Roy Martin and Mrs. Coughlan, and raided a nephew, Jimmie Burk. For her aniversary party Mrs. Martin will wear a navy linen dress accented with multicolored embroidery. Her corsage will be of red and white carnations. At the register table will be seated Ms. Pat Martin. Mrs. Bill Locke and Ms. Debbie Campbell will serve the wedding cake and Mrs. Glennn Howell and Mrs. Steve Burk will pour punch. Tables will be draped with white cloth. The cake table will be overlayed with gold net cought in the center and on the corners by nosgays of tiney white and yellow mumms. Flanking the cake will be gold tapers in crystal holders. D. Martin to celebrate 70th birthday (misprint) Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Martin of Memphis formerly of Munford, will be honored an their 70th wedding anniversary with a reception at the Dellwood Baptist Church, 1577 Dellwood, Frayser. The fete will be held on March 6 from 2-4pm. The couple was married in a Model T Ford in Sumner, MS on March 8, 1923. Mr. Martin is 89 and MRs. Martin is 86 years of age.
