224-225 In the name of God Amen: I Lydia Tompkins of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee do make my last will and testament in the words following to wit:

First I give to my sister Ann Burton a negro woman named Cloar, a negro girl named Matilda and a negro boy named Riall.

Second I give to my brother Josephus H. Conn a negro man named Harry (note: or Henry).

Third I give to Lydia Eliza Brown daughter of John Brown one negro boy named Bob, also one silk dress a dozen silver tea spoons and half a dozen Silver Table Spoons.

Fourth I give to my niece Lydia Burton half a dozen Silver Table Spoons and also half a dozen _ _ .

Fifth and Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint my brother-in-law John Brown Executor _ my last will and testament revoking any wills, Therefore made by me. In testimony where of I have here to set my hand and seal 13th February 1816
