In the name of God, Amen. I Levi Gant of Sumner County, State of Tennessee, being this day of sound mind, do make and ordain this my last will and testament.
1st I desire that my just debts and burial expenses be paid, at my death out of any money I may have on hand, or collected from those oweing me.
2nd I desire, after all dues have been paid, that all money on hand, or due me be equally divided between my children, Jane Perry, Margaret Smithson and Carr Gant, and the heirs of my deceased daughters Arteler Hunter and Lavina Perry, (ie) I desire that the heirs of my deceased daughters shall have the amount that would have been due their mothers. I also direct that should any of my surviving children die, that their heirs, if any, shall receive the amount that would have been due their parent. I desire, and direct, that where any of the legatees of my estate have had advancements of any character, the same is to be accounted for, so that in all of my whole estate, each heir or the representatives of my heirs, shall shall [sic] share equally of my whole estate.
3rd I direct that James W. Reddick be Executor of this my last will and testament.

A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Levi Gant was this day produced in open Court and proved my the oath of S. T. Reddick, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and by the oath of S. T. & J. W. Reddick as to the handwriting, the other subscribing witness thereto and the same was ordered to be recorded. This 12th day of June 1886.
