In the name of God Amen: I Griffith Dickinson/Dickerson of Sumner County and state of Tennessee being very sick, but of perfect mind and memory; calling to mind that it is appointed unto all men _ to die; and after that the judgement; I do therefore constitute this my last will and testament in form and manner as followeth, viz.
First of all I give and command my soul into the hand of Almighty God who gave it, and my body I _ to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the direction of my Executors - and as _ such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life. I give and bequeath as follows. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Matilda Dickinson/Dickerson all my property both real and personal of whatever kind or nature it may be - after all my just debts be paid _ by _ Horn and watch which I give unto my beloved nephew Griffith Dickinson/Dickerson son of Wyllie Dickinson/Dickerson to them their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Matilda Dickinson/Dickerson Executor of this my last will and testament disannulling all wills or forms by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirm my this said this only to be my last will and Testament - In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this 31st day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen 1818

The last will and testament of Griffith Dickinson/Dickerson was produced in Court and duly proved by the oath of Samuel Gibson and Reuben B? subscribing witnesses thereunto said ordered to be named. And thereupon Matilda Dickinson/Dickerson and Wyllie Dickinson/Dickerson Executrix and Executor remained in seal will and testament appeared in Court and qualified as such by taking the oath as prescribed by Law - whereupon said Matilda Dickinson/Dickerson and Wyllie Dickinson/Dickerson with Samul Gibson _ _ entered into and acknowledged the bond to the Governor in the penalty of one thousand dollars conditioned as the Law directs.
