A verbal will of William CRAIN who died on the fourteen day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and sixteen.
First
My will is that my wife Susannah CRAIN shall keep as much of my property as her father Lewis CRAIN may think sufficient for the support of her and her family until my three sons John CRAIN, Lewis W. CRAIN and Isaac CRAIN shall be able to tend my plantation.
Secondly
My will is that the remainder of my property be disposed of as Lewis CRAIN my think proper. This will was committed to writing April 20, 1816.

Sumner County Court May Term 1816
A writing _ to be the nuncupate will of William CRAIN decd was produced in Court; and the same was proved in due form of Law by Lewis CRAIN and as direct to be _ _ whereupon on motion it is ordered by the Court and letter of Administration with the will _ be granted to Lewis CRAIN, who made oath according to the Law and together with Ezekiel CRAIN and William CRAIN his securities _ unto _ the bond to the Governor in the penalty of eight hundred dollars conditioned as the Law directs.
