Know all men by these present that I Lawrance Thompson of Sumner County and State of North Carolina have this day bargained and sold unto Azariah Thompson and John Whitsett of the county of Sumner and State aforesaid one stud horse known by the name of Bardolph and two Sorrel Mares, and two bright bay mares and one dark bay and one colt, and one bright bay Horse . . . also the Negroes Simon Ginny and Vic, also the feather beds and the furniture . . . the consideration of eighty six pounds to me in hand paid by the said Azariah and John Whitsett . . . this the tenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and ninety . . .
