Received 17th of December 1790 of Elmore Douglass of this County of Sumner and Territory of the United States South of the River Ohio a valuable consideration for three negroes which I have bargained and sold and delivered to the said Elmore Douglass to wit one yellow(?) named Rufu_d about eighteen or twenty years of age, one wench named Poll about fifteen years of ago - one other wench named __ about _ years of age, which three negroes I do for myself, my heirs, my Executors, administrators I warrant to be healthy, sound and sensible and I do further warrant and forever defend the said negroes to the aforesaid Douglass his heirs and _ the lawful claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same. Witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this day and year above written
