William Weatherred (son of Francis (Frank) Marcus Weatherred and Agnes Suddarth) b. 6 Oct 1779, Albemarle Co., VA, m. 1 Sep 1802, in Albemarle Co., VA, Patience DOWELL, (daughter of Judas John Dowell and Anne Franklin). William died 28 May 1849, Sumner Co., TN

Book found in Tennessee State Archives - "Albemarle County, Virginia Marriages, 1780 - 1853": "William Weatherred & Patience Gunter 1 Sept 1802; w- Reuben Gunter b- James Dowell wit- H. Gates Winston (Rec. of Marr. Bonds, 1780 - 1806) (B/C Papers, 1800-07).

William died of cholera, and his son William Waller Weatherred also died of cholera. William was an inspector of tobacco in New Orleans for many years

Bate (son of Ann F. Bate - great granddaughter of Patience Sumter Franklin Suddarth) in Draper manuscripts. Letter dated 11 Aug 1870. Their 9 children: 1. Mary E. Bate b. 4 Jun 1823, m. 4 Jun 1844, R. H. M. Smith. Mary died ? Sep 1883. 2. Eugenia Patience Bate b. 6 Sep 1826, m. (1) 15 Sep 1842, Council Rogers Bass, m. (2) 1865, Joseph Bartinatti. Eugenia died 9 Dec 1906. 3. Willie Anne Bate b. 17 Oct 1828, m. 22 Jul 1852, in San Augustine, Texas, Noel G. Roberts, d. Texas. Willie died 12 Oct 1859. 4. William W. Bate b. 2 Apr 1831, Sumner County, Tennessee, m. 4 Oct 1859, in San Augustine, Texas, Margaret Davis. William died 7 Jan 1912. 5.Agnes E. Bate b. 21 Sep 1834, m. 21 Dec 1856, Isaac N. Wright. 6. Amanda M. Bate b. 23 Oct 1836, m. (1) 15 Mar 1857, Anaskew Bass, m. (2) Thomas Shoulders, m. (3) William Polk. Amanda died 23 Jul 1872. 7.Henry C. Bate b. 28 Jul 1839, m. (1) 16 Jan 1866, Rosabel Simonton, m. (2) 28 Apr 1890, Minnie H. Williams, m. (3) 3 Mar 1902, Nellie E. Freeman. Henry died 2 May 1917. 8.Humphrey H. Bate b. 1 Feb 1844, m. (1) 27 Oct 1869, Martha A. Franklin, b. 1846, d. 11 Feb 1871, m. (2) 25 Nov 1873, Nannie D. Simpson. Humphrey died 9 Jun 1911. 9. Aaron S. Bate b. 30 Apr 1846, d. 6 Aug 1863, Rome, Georgia. Aaron S. Bate died at the Battle of Hoover Gap in the Civil War.

  2. Amanda Patience Weatherred b. 19 Nov 1806, Virginia, m. 12 Dec 1825, James Henry Bate, b. 25 Nov 1804, (son of Humphrey (Col.) Bate and Elizabeth P. Brimage) d. 14 Apr 1842. Their 4 children: 1. William Brimmage Bate b. 7 Oct 1826, Sumner County, Tennessee, m. Julia Peete. William died 9 Mar 1905. From tombstone in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee: God is my refuge and strength - William Brimmage Bate Lies buried there 1826 - 1905 - brave, patriotic and incorruptable he was called up to be Governor, Major General, United States Senator. "Of all human things, nothing is more honoreable or more excellent than to deserve well of one's country." He was governor of Tennessee and a United States Senator. 2. Humphrey P. Bate b. 27 Jun 1828, m. Julia Anderson Tyre. Humphrey died 6 Apr 1862. Humphrey P. Bate was killed in the Civil War at the Battle of Shiloh Julia: Sister of Joseph Tyre. 3.Elizabeth P. Bate b. 27 Nov 1831, Sumner County, Tennessee, m. Joseph Tyre. Joseph: Brother of Julia Anderson Tyre. 4. James Henry Jr. Bate b. 13 Oct 1841, Sumner County, Tennessee, d. abt 1927.

  3. Melvina D. Weatherred b. abt 1808, Virginia, m. (1) abt 1832, George Smith, m. (2) Nathaniel D. Terry. Their 4 children: 1. Nathaniel A. Terry (son of Nathaniel D. Terry and Melvina D. Weatherred) b. abt 1839, Sumner County, Tennessee. 2. William H.C. Terry (son of Nathaniel D. Terry and Melvina D. Weatherred) b. abt 1841, Sumner County, Tennessee. 3. John H. Terry (son of Nathaniel D. Terry and Melvina D. Weatherred) b. abt 1843, Sumner County, Tennessee. 4. Ephriam F. Terry (son of Nathaniel D. Terry and Melvina D. Weatherred) b. abt 1845, Sumner County, Tennessee.

  4. William Waller Weatherred b. 14 Oct 1814, Tennessee, m. ABT 1837, Lucy Virginia BROWN. William died 2 Jun 1849, Sumner County, Tennessee. Died of cholera 2 JUN 1849. His father William Weatherred also died of cholera 28 MAY 1849. Their 2 children: 1.William Dabney Weatherred 2. Patience Lavenia Weatherred.
