Anthony A. C. ROGERS was born in Sumner County, February 14, 1821. He became a merchant, and in 1854 moved to Arkansas. In 1861 he was arrested for treason against the Confederate Government. In 1862 he was elected to Congress, but was not allowed to take his seat, the State not having gone through the ordeal of reconstruction. In 1868 he was again elected as the People's candidate. In 1870 he was the Democratic candidate but was defeated.
