Denville Owen Key and third wife, married 9 Apr 1927 Sumner Co TN to Clydie "Louise" WHITSON b. 22 Oct 1914 Sumner Co TN (daughter of William Henry WHITSON and Ardelia Lenery PERDUE). They had 8 children all born after 1920.

Aleene Rickman (Martha D., William G. James, William Sr) b. 6 Feb 1884 Trousdale Co TN d. 20 Mar 1969 Trousdale Co TN married in Trousdale Co TN to Branch Hudson PERKINS. They had at least one child: Evelyn Key Perkins b. 1910 married Robert Gwynne VAUGHN. At least one child born after 1920.

6th generation through William Key Sr, son William Jr, grandson Zachary Taylor Key, great-granddaughter Elaba Key:

Gladys Whiteside (Elaba, Zachary Taylor, William Jr, William Sr) married Thomas Jackson DARLING Jr. They had at least 2 children: Gladys Le County Darling and Marjorie Elaba Whiteside Darling.

Descendants of Bingham Key , brother of William Key, Sr.

Bingham KEY was born about 1762. He is the younger brother of Reverend William Key, Sr who was born in Chesterfield Co, VA in 1761. Bingham moved to Tennessee sometime after the Revolutionary War. Bingham served in the Revolutionary War and is listed in Pension files under R35694. I believe Bingham may be a nickname for Benjamin. If so, there is a Benjamin listed in 1830 census as being aged 60-70 with a wife aged 40-50. Bingham died about 1840. On November 20, 1788, he married Susannah ECKLES in Sussex Co Va. They had at least one child: Macklin Key. (Have also seen his name as McLin, MacLin).

Macklin Key, son of Bingham Key. Macklin has also been spelled as McLin and MacLin. Macklin Key was born about 1780 in North Carolina. On April 15, 1826, he married Susan RIPPY (born 1800 in NC). I have also seen sources having him married to a Susan PERRY. Since he was about 46 when he married Susan RIPPY, perhaps Susan PERRY was a first marriage. Macklin is listed in the War of 1812 musters, but the first part of his number is illegible. The second part is SO-22803 serving under Captain John Faskerville's Co of TN Militia as a private. A younger MacLin is in the 1850 census, aged 25. Probably MackLin's son or grandson. The elder Macklin Key was still living in 1850 on census listed as age 70, and listed as a farmer with a farm value of $100.

Macklin Key, Jr is son of Macklin Key and possibly Susan PERRY or whoever Macklin's first wife was. He was born 1825 TN and married Emily CARTER on 18 Feb 1845 Sumner Co TN. Their children were:

  2. Parmilia Key b. abt. 1847 TN
  3. John W. Key b. abt. 1848 TN
  4. Eliza J. Key b. abt. 1850 TN
