Children of JOHN GILLIAM and LUCY BENNETT are:

    1. CATHERINE L. 4 GILLIAM, b. Abt. 1806, VA; d. Aft. 1870, Living Richmond Station, Sumner, TN; m. BALES, Abt. 1831, Prob Sumner Co. , TN.
    2. WILLIAM BENNETT GILLIAM, b. Bet. 1806 - 1810, VA; d. November 16, 1836, Seminole War; m. LUCINDA F. DAVIS, July 21, 1832, Sumner Co. , TN.

      Notes for WILLIAM BENNETT GILLIAM:
William Bennett Gilliam, son of John H. and Lucy Bennett Gilliam, served in the Seminole War ( Old Sumner by Walter Durham). Relatives said he died on 16 Nov 1836 in the Creek Wars. This was probably the Seminole War. William Gilliam is listed on Seminole War Muster Roll of Captain Joseph G. Meador Company of the Second Regiment, First Brigade of Tennessee Mounted Militia, commanded by William Trousdale, and ordered into service of the United States from the 15th day of June 1836 to 14 January 1837. His brother John Gilliam was also listed on this muster roll.

William's sons, M.P. and W.T. Gilliam, signed the estate deed of John H. and Lucy Bennett Gilliam, in 1857 in Sumner County, Tennessee, on behalf of William's share of his parents' estate.

Washington Thompson Gilliam was listed on the 1858 Allen Co., KY tax list as having 1 hog valued at $100, $25 gold, and two cows. He was on the 1859 tax list, same county, with 1 hog valued at $175 and 1 Jenny valued at $200.

    3. FRANCES H. GILLIAM, b. Bet. 1810 - 1815, VA; d. Bef. 1857; m. ISAAC SULLIVAN, April 07, 1832, Sumner Co. , TN.

      Notes for FRANCES H. GILLIAM:
Frances did not sign the 1857 deed as an heir of John H. and Lucy Bennett Gilliam. Apparently other heirs did not sign also. In 1834 Isaac Sullivan made several purchases from the estate sale of John's parents, James and Frances Hopkins Gilliam. Frances is obviously a granddaughter of James and Frances, and John is the only son who could be her father.
