This indenture made the thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred ninety seven in the twenty second year of the Independence of the United States of North America between James WILSON Senor of the State of Tennessee and county of Sumner of the one part and Frances FONVILLE of the State and County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James WILSON for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred & six dollars to him in hand paid by the said Frances FONVILLE the receipt whereof his doth thereby acknowledge & himself therewith fully satisfied and contend and paid that granted bargained and sold and confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain sell and confirm and makes over to the said Francis FONVILLE his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of herein after mentioned described containing fifty one and a half acres of land more or less it being part of a tract of land originally granted to Peter P. LOONEY by letters pattent under the grate seal of the state of North Carolina baring the date of 17th (7th?) April 17_?_6 & conveyed by deed by the said Peter P. LOONEY unto John WILSON and James WILSON baring date the fifteenth day of October 1788 lying and being in the county of sumner on the water of Sinking Creek beginning at a mulberry and running thence north one hundred and thirty five poles to a mulberry thence south one hundred and thirty five poles to a locust & small ash thence west sixty one & two tenths poles to the beginning containing fifty one and a half acres of land more or less to have and to hold the before described tract or parcel of land & premises with the appurtenances to him the said Frances FONVILLE his heirs and assigns forever and the said James WILSON doth hereby for himself his heirs executors & administrators covenant and agree to and with the said Frances FONVILLE his heirs and assigns forever to warrant and defend the aforesaid land and premises against the claim of all persons whatsoever claiming or l awfully to claim. In witness whereof the said James WILSON hath _______to set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year ____above written.
