John C. Russell to Jeremiah & Thornton Stark Deed for 305 acres.

This Indenture made this twentyeth day of december in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred & Seventeen between John C. Russell of the state of Kentucky & County of Mecklenburg of the one part & Jeremiah Stark & Thornton Stark of the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John C. Russell for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof the S'd Jno C. Russell doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained & Sold & by these presents doth grant bargain & sell to the same Jeremiah Stark & Thornton Stark their heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation three Hundred & five acres be the same more or less lying in the aforesaid County of Sumner on Turneys branch being the whole of a tract or parcel of land deeded by Smith Hansborough to the s'd Russell having date the twentyeth day of December one thousand Eight Hundred & ten & bounded as follows: Beginning at a triple mulberry thence South fifty Eight & a half degrees West one Hundred & Seventy five poles to a hickery & white ash thence South one hundred & Eighty Six poles to an ash thence East 209-1/2 poles to an Ironwood sapling thence North 207 poles to an Elm & Small Mulberry thence North forty five West seventy two poles to the Beginning together with all the appurtenances thereto belonging To have & to hold the S'd tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances to the s'd Jeremiah & Thornton Stark their heirs & assigns and the said Jno C. Russell for himself & his heirs the said tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances to the s'd Jeremiah & Thornton Stark & their heirs & assigns against the claim of all persons whomsoever will forever warrant & defend. In testimony whereof the s'd Jno C. Russell hath hereunto subscribed his name & offixed his seal the day & year above written.
