This Indenture made this 7th day of June 1848 between James Roney of the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee of the one part and Abram Bradley of the County & State aforesaid of the other part: Witnesseth that the said Roney for and in consideration of the Sum of three hundred & fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the said Bradley the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do convey and deliver unto the aforesaid Abram Bradley a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County & State aforesaid on the waters of Drake's Creek of Barren River and bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a black jack in David Bradley's South boundary line and North West corner to the tract of land on which A. Bradley now lives, running South 136 poles to a stake in Benj. Johnson's North boundary line, thence West 152 poles to a black gum, thence North 156 poles to a black gum, thence East 28 poles to a maple, thence South 4 poles to a hickory, thence East 20 poles to a post oak thence South 20 poles to a Spanish Oak and pointer, thence East 100 poles to the beginning, containing One hundred & thirty five acres more or less, To have and to hold the aforesaid land and bargained premises with all and singular the appurtances thereto belonging or appertaining to him the said Abram Bradley his heirs Executors administrators assigns from him the said James Roney Sen. his heirs and assigns and from all and any person or claims whatsoever. And I the said James Roney for myself my heirs Executors & assigns do warrant and forever defend the right and title to said land from all and any person or persons laying claim thereunto unto him the said Abram Bradley his heirs & assigns forever. Personally appeared before me William S. Munday Clerk of the County Court of said County Alexander M. Bradley & R.J. House subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Deed who being first sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted with James Roney, Sen. the bargainer and that he acknowledged the Execution of the same in their presence to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date and for the purposed therein contained. Witness my hand at Office the 4th day of October 1849.
