This Indenture made this twenty Eighth day of September in the year one thousand Eight hundred and thirty by & between Alexander Starks of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and Elizabeth Durning Sen'r, Elizabeth Jun'r, Noah Byram, Sam'l Groves, Eli Dyer of the same county & state and Lewis Durning and John Robards of the county of Hickman & same State of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Elizabeth, Noah, Sam'l Eli John & Lewis for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained Sold and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and deliver unto the Said Alexander Stark his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the county of Sumner & State of Tennessee on the North side of Cumberland river containing one hundred acres be the ame more or less it being part of a tract of land of four hundred & twenty Eight acres granted to Sam'l Smith Beginning in Thomas Starks North West Corner in Daniel Smiths line running East with Thomas Starks line one hundred & four poles to Sims line thence along Said line to Whitworths line thence along Sanders line to an ash on old corner in Daniel Smiths line thence West with said line one hundred and four poles to his corner thence with his line to the beginning to have and to hold the aforesaid land with all & singular the rights, privileges & moluments appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining to the only proper use of __ the Said Alexander Stark his heirs and assigns forever the afors'd Elizabeth Durnings Noah Byram Sam'l Groves Eli Dyer Lewis Durning and John Robbards warrant & defend the above tract or parcel of land against all right title claim or interest of all person persons both in law and Equity in Testimony whereof they have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day and year above mentioned. Sumner County Court May Term 1832
Deed of bargain & Sale from Elizabeth Durning, Elizabeth Durning, Lewis Durning, Noah Byram, Eli Dyer, John Roberts & Samuel Groves to Alexander Stark for one hundred acres of land was duly proved in open Court by the oath of Jeremiah Stark & Thornton Stark the subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be registered.
