Note: It was a beautiful day today; sunny, a little cool and the leaves were so pretty. John and I decided we would go for a ride up into Kentucky toward Scotsville. On our way back, we took all back roads and lo and behold, found an unnamed cemetery with just a few very old, almost unreadable headstones.

Location: Providence Road is in Oak Grove, which is unincorporated and is 5 miles west of Westmoreland and 8 miles east of Portland.

Comment from Diane Payne: In the Sumner County, TN Cemetery book by Snider & Yorgason, this cemetery is named Old Providence Cemetery.

Note: From Diane Payne. Not all headstones were transcribed and some are now too difficult to read. In 1984 Snider and Yorgason were able to transcribe the entire cemetery. To check for a transcription just e-mail the Cemetery Lookup person, Peggy Colella at Cemetery Lookups.
