Location (from the Sumner County Cemetery Book): 1 2/10 mi. North of Gallatin on Dobbins Pike; then 2 2/20 mi. East on Gibbs lane. Cemetery is on North side of road in a thicket.

This cemetery should be called Anderson Cemetery. Property owned by John Anderson (b. Ca 1730/40) whose will was dated 1801 dictated that a half-acre of land should be established for a "family burying ground." It is believed that he and wife Jane, who died between 1798 and 1801, are buried here inside the rock wall with unmarked graves. John Anderson was the father of Robert Anderson and grandfather or Rebecca McLin, who are buried here. Additional graves which I found here in 1950 are those of:

(She was the first wife of John McLin, Sarah was the second wife.)

(Evidently, she was the mother of John McLin)
