John Easley Bell (son of Pleasant V. Bell and Lucinda "Lucy" Gaines, possibly a grandson of James Bell. For more information see the Family of James Bell), was born August 31, 1846 in Sumner Co. TN. John died September 21, 1931 in Union City, Obion Co. TN. John married on April 1, 1869 in Sumner Co. TN to Writha Caroline Hunt. He married 2nd to Lillie Mai Leigh.

The story goes that John Easley wanted to migrate before any of the children married so all would stay together. He and the boys went to Obion County by wagon and Writha and the girls went by train about 1890. He said that he didn't want his sons to hit a rock every time their hoe hit the ground. His sisters Malvina Duffer (Abner) Margarate Gaines (John Harris) had settled there in Dist. # 7 before him. The Stovall family was also from Sumner and settled in the same community early.

Writha Caroline Hunt was born in the month of April 1845-1847 in Sumner or Macon Co., TN. She died October 16, 1907 in District #7, Obion Co. TN. Her father was a Mr. Hunt and her mother's name was Nancy. She had a sister Amanda Josephine Hunt. Writha is believed to be the granddaughter of James Hunt and Sally. He was a Revoluntionary Soldier from NC who settled in Sumner early. He was later in that part of Sumner Co. that became Macon Co.

1. Charles Allen Bell was born January 4, 1870 in Sumner Co. TN. Died September 17, 1952 in Union City, Obion Co. TN. Charles married on October 25, 1894 to Lillian Clinton Glass.

2. Josey Ann Bell was born April 7, 1871 in Sumner Co. TN. Josey Ann Bell was possibly named for Amanda Josephine Hunt. Josey died very young from being burned.

3. Nancy Jane Bell was born June 4, 1872 in Sumner Co. TN. Died October 31, 1941 in Obion Co. TN. Nancy married on February 27, 1892 in Obion Co. TN to Elisha William Stovall.

4. John Ella Bell was born August 26, 1873 in Sumner Co. TN. Died November 21, 1959 McKenzie, Carroll Co. TN. John Ella married on November 11, 1894 in Obion Co. TN Alfred Campbell Hall.

5. James William (Will) Bell was born October 15, 1875 in Sumner Co. TN. Died May 26, 1971 in Union City, Obion Co. TN. Will married Kate Conn after 19 August 1901 prob. in Obion County. (Kate was still single and living at home with her father Jesse Conn when he gave his affidavit for a Confederate Pension on 19 August 1901) Kate died ca 1907. Will was married 2nd to Dovie Vaughn Bell, widow of his brother Jeff, after ca 1908. Children of Will and Kate Bell were (1) Infant boy born and died ca 1902-1903, (2) Albert Leslie Bell born 28 November 1904 in District #7, Obion County, TN and died June 9, 1969 in Union City, Obion County, TN. Leslie married Mary Fort Phebus on December 23, 1934 in Union City, Obion County, TN.

6. Jefferson Hanna Bell was born April 25, 1877 in Sumner Co. TN. Died August 18, 1903 in Obion Co. TN. Jefferson married 12 Feb 1897 in Obion Co. TN to Dovie Vaughn.

7. Alfred Tinsley Bell was born January 4, 1880 in Sumner Co. TN. Died August 7, 1973 possibly in MS. Alfred married Lelia May Wagster.

8. Wesley Harris Bell was born April 30, 1881 in Sumner Co. TN. Died June 26, 1932 in Union City, Obion Co. TN. Wesley married on 9 April 1905 in Obion Co. TN to Learon N. Stovall.

9. Alice Patterson Bell was born September 13, 1882 in Sumner Co. TN. Died February 18, 1964 in Union City, Obion Co. TN. Alice married on December 27, 1903 in Obion Co. TN to William Thomas Dickenson.

10. Dora Myrtle Bell was born April 30, 1884 in Sumner Co. TN. Died July 25, 1970 in Obion Co. TN. Dora married in 1911 in Obion Co. TN to James Spence Stovall. Married 2nd to J. Eldridge Wagster.

11. Mattie Gertude Bell was born November 10, 1885 in Sumner Co. TN. Died February 23, 1926 in Obion Co. TN. Mattie married James Orville Sanders.
